i downloaded iro for my

acer aspire one

it has 2gb ddr 2 ram

running windows 7 starter

and everytime i try to start up the installer it says

"This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer."

help would be very appreciated thank you.

Your copy of the installer is corrupted. I suggest that you either download it again using a download manager such as FlashGet, or download the multi-part version of the installer.

The latest version of the installer is corrupted. This problem happened to even me. What I did was get an older installer 13.2 and Patched it to recent updates.

One other option is you try opening the corrupted installer with the "lessmi" program - Someone in the forums has suggested this method. However, I will vouch for my own method since it worked for me.

Does flashget work on the iRO client downloads? Most download managers do not work on the official site, and the irowiki server prohibits use of download managers that make multiple connections (which is most of them).

I haven't tested whether or not FlashGet works with the official web site, but it should work with iRO Wiki if you disable the feature that causes each file to be concurrently downloaded in parts. Unfortunately, I couldn't find instructions for doing so on the Web. (I suppose my last post was somewhat rushed.)
