When I open the Ragnarok.exe and try to connect to loki server it says it failed to connect to server.

I had this issue also... fixed it by downloading the "RO Classic Manual Patch" from the main site; http://www.playragna...ntdownload.aspx

Other things that worked for me include running in compatibility mode (I am on windows 8), setting full folder permissions and running as an admin. There are other threads similar to this with different solutions suggested. one is the following;

I actually got it to work.

1. I turned off UAC (control panel, search for User Account Control, change the setting to Never Notify)
2. I uninstalled and re-installed in C:\Ragnarok Online\
3. I went to the folder location and ran classicRO.exe, ragnarok.exe, and sakray.exe in that order, exiting each time instead of hitting start so they can patch.
4. I ran setup.exe and setup_classic.exe and set my preferences for each (just in case).
5. run ragnarok.exe

I \was\ running sakray.exe to play it for a while, but realized it was a beta server to just test basic stuff. It was kind of fun, but after hitting max level I was like "so... what do....."

Thanks for the help though. Hope this helps future users.

I also got it to run on my friend's computer too, but I had to turn off his norton antivirus while the program installed. His antivirus is back up now and it's allowing ragnarok to run just fine. It just won't allow the installation.

Also, though it may seem facile of me to suggest, make sure both renewal and classic patches are up to date.
