To ban someone for botting, the GMs need to catch them in the act. Unfortunately, this means that an attentive botter can rush over and reply to the GM when he comes to investigate them, so he looks like he's not botting - hence he won't get banned until he gets reported and the GM tests him while he's in the bathroom or sleeping or something.

That's the same canned response they gave me when I reported a merchant who scam people by changing prices in vend shops. In my case I bought around 200 white slims from this merchant's vend shop and somehow ended up loosing 60M. I double check the price listed, but it showed 1K each.
Oooh, is there an exploit here?

I honestly do not know what it is or how he/she did it. All I know is that my zenies went down -60M after I bought the slims. Any hacking experts here know about this?

They give a copy+paste answer for all ill-mannered reports. Do you want them wasting time typing out individual replies, or addressing more tickets?

I wasn't aware the Game Masters operated under the same laws as the Geneva convention.
Why are the rules so lenient on this matter? Isn't it just a blatant invite for people to bot?
I could run around Payon quite easily and point out the scallywags. Not to mention all the ones sitting down. Upon being healed; they gleefully jump up and continue their lemming business.
What we need is a Hero someone to round up these ruffians. A vigilante. Why not get a volunteer bot hunter? I'm sure many players would happily scoff at the opportunity.
Hugs and kisses,
Zahrim, the slayer of hordes and Master of time.
