Well, it all started when I wake up this morning (I played normaly until last night) and opened up the game, and it started patching from the begining, like 2010 files I think, like i've just installed the game, it failed to get some files, so I downloaded them manually from the wiki, and when it finished patching, and I started the game, it threw this runtime error:

"Runtime error!

C:/ Program files/ Gravity/ Ragnarok online/ ragexe.exe

R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. Please contact the application's support team for more information"

I reinstalled several times, and opened as an Administrator. By the way, this only happens with the ragexe.exe, I can play classic without problems, but I don't play in classic :(... So help me, please.

Edit: Forget to say, I had this problem before, and someone told me to reinstall MSVC++ 2008 Runtime files, I did it and it worked by then, but I'm having the problem again and it doesn't work.

Try installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)http://www.microsoft...s.aspx?id=18471. or the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) http://www.microsoft...lang=en&id=5638. Depending on your system bit version.

Please do the following:

  • Download, extract, and then open Process Explorer.
  • Reproduce the problem by opening the client, but do not close the window that contains the error message.
  • In Process Explorer, select Ragexe.exe, and then press control-L, control-D,
  • Press control-A and then save the file somewhere where you will not lose it.
  • Upload the file to Ge.tt.
  • Include the address of the uploaded file in a reply to this post.

I think you need the x86 one for ro no matter what, since ro is a 32 bit application

That was just my experiences needing the MVC++. When launching 32x applications on a 64x OS that needs the MVC++ matching the OS.

Since iRO runs on 64x as well as 32x it wont be an issue of OS Bit compatibility, the MVC++ 64x should resolve those issues. This is from the other 32x Applications I've launched on 64x versions of Windows 7 (Home Premium through Ultimate) and Windows 8 (Home and Professional).

In short, players should run Windows Update prior to the first launch of iRO...

My system is 32x bit so that's the one I downloaded, it didn't fix the problem.

So, TheUrahara, you suggest that I uninstall Ro, run windows update, then install again? I'll try that...

I'll be uploading the Process Explorer thing soon... Thanks for the help so far.

Here it is http://ge.tt/7ioGfzV/v/0 a lot of this is in spanish, so i don't know if this will help :s

I suspected that this was the cause of the problem, but your Process Explorer data has discounted that possibility.

I'm out of ideas for now. :(

Sorry that we didn't get you on in the first try. Bright side is, your system will be getting a huge tune-up lol.

When you do the Windows update try to make sure you get all of the updates, both Optional and Recommended.

This should give you the right drives, services and updates.

Hopefully with we'll have you on soon!

I'm not the best tech expert here, but try this.
Uninstall RO as amin.
Download ccleaner and run the registry scan to clean up your registry. Just do it.
Reinstall RO using admin. Run the setup as Admin.
Patch RO using admin. Run the patcher as Admin and not the shortcut.

If it doesn't work then I'm sorry. If it does then be nice to people in game and in life.

What version of MVC++ do you currently have?

For the record there are at least 5 different versions of MVC++ you can get just for Windows 7 32x -____- (trail and error)

You could uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Package from Add or Remove Programs & reinstall it again. Thereafter, check if the issue persists.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) - which you've already done for 2008... (Thanks Microsoft =D)

Please be careful of running CCleaner or dont run a Reg Fixer just yet - best way to fix a broken registry is with a clean install.

However if you feel like a Reg Fixer is necessary (link down below), please use the following these steps:

Run sfc /scannow (From Command Promt as Administrator)- let it fix any errors it finds. This will not fix Registry but any other system files that are corrupt and were changed. Restart your computer, check for any updates and then launch iRO.

Secondly run CCleaner. I think this application is great to clean up, well crap. We stand by this application to remove remnants of malware and bad installations; but it's like a chain saw to the registry keys. Restart your computer, check for any updates and then launch iRO.

If both have failed, the head over to Cnet and use their Registry Repair. This wont push the system back to the "Out of Box Settings" But anything that raises red flags such as conflicting/unused Registry Keys will be removed or the default values placed in them based on your version of Windows.

If none of this works any at consider a re installation of Windows 7 using a Manufacture OEM. If everything else failed and you choose to do this please PM me.

The IRO client only uses the Visual C++ 2008 Run-Time Library.

Deyk2407, did you install any new software on your computer shortly before this problem occurred?

PS: Axylus thanks for helping, I'm going to the process now of creating a video on how to install, launch and patch iRO. If you'd like to help out, it would be appreciated.

You should tell people to install the client to a location outside of the Program Files folder, such as C:\Applications\Gravity Interactive\Ragnarök Online. This should prevent many of the UAC-related problems that people encounter while using or attempting to use the client.

Deyk2407, you should try this too.

I feel embarrased now u.u... The "NO ME JODAS" (are u f***cking kidding me) scream could be heard from 2 blocks away.

Thanks! to all of you. really, you're the best, I'm gonna bookmark the thread in case the problem shows up again, THANKS a LOT!

Yes, it worked, but an entirely different problem came up u.u... When I finally logged in, and select my server (Chaos), i found out my account to be totally empty, no characters available :(... What the hell? it's weird, no matter what I do with the client in my pc, it shouldn't mess up with my characters, since they're at the server, I don't get it...
It won't even let me create another character, it says that every name I put exist, even if it is "qy16372y1uq9e8", sorry to be annoying :S

Chars are still there, client just missed the most recent patch (connecting to post-merge server with pre-merge client results in all char slots appearing empty - the chars are still there, which is why you can't create chars in those slots (the slots are not empty).).

Likely you forgot to run the patcher as admin at some point, causing it to fail to patch the client executable.

Follow these instructions: http://forums.warppo...pty-fix-inside/

I did that and I had to install one patch manually and the Runtime error reappeared, I think that that's the problem, having to install patchs manually, I'm sick of it, I'm about to ragequit.

I think you should uninstall the client and then reinstall it to a location outside of the Program Files folder. If that doesn't work, then perform a manual installation (in case the cause of the problem is Windows Installer applying special protection to the client's files).
