Renewal/Chaos uses the Renewal game mechanics, has third jobs, and the level cap is 150/50. The game mechanics are generally much more forgiving and newbie-friendly than Classic. If you previously played RO, your characters are on this server.
Classic/Loki uses the classic or "pre-renewal" game mechanics, which are very different. There are no third jobs, nor will there ever be, and the level cap is 99/70, and will never go beyond that. The game mechanics are harder (or "more challenging").
Renewal has a somewhat higher population.

"Basically, the ones who like the game for fights and wars prefer Pre-Renewal because it involves team play compared to Renewal where tons of classes can One Shot alone everything with 1 Key pressed even if Gravity is trying to not make that happen that much, damage was already made.
The ones who just care about PVM are enjoying Renewal because they can now solo everything with almost no gear/strategy needed aka PVM Kings.
The game changed to a super easy mode and the things that should be changed like give better challenges to vets was ignored.
The problem, most of the time, is that their dev sucks with the implementation of good ideas. The good idea is there, final use is bad[points for the booking party system or the auction feature, for example].
Renewal is just making RO a milking money game imo." Triper, Moderator, at http://forum./gen...vs-non-renewal/
Now baby its for the classic RO challenge. whos with me, y'all !
btw, how much players are in server Loki ??? 1500+ or 3000 or 1000 ??? thhhanks

OK GUYS made my choice forever, since I hate easiness in games:

Cant disagree more on that highlighted part. without gear/strategy you wont solo much on the higher tier mobs.
and the player count on classic is around 1200-2000 or so. depends on what event is running there. most people keep tabs on renewal server when theres not much interesting things going on there.

You want difficulty? try Renewal market w/o using KP
Been doing that ever since i started playing this game !! have a lvl 56 champ, 110 RK, 99 ninja, 54 archer, 99 high wizard, 90ish alchy, 40ish aco !!
Not 1 dime spent on the game yet, but i agree..its tough to play without KP/WPE !!
Renewal market w/o using KP is definately hard when you are competing with top guys !!
