- Navigate to your client folder in Windows Explorer.
- Right-click the file Setup_Classic.exe and then choose "run as administrator".
- Answer the User Account Control dialogue window that is opened affirmatively.
- Change the settings to suit your preferences.
- Press "OK".

Are you trying to play on the Classic server? If so, then do the following:
- Navigate to your client folder in Windows Explorer.
- Right-click the file Setup_Classic.exe and then choose "run as administrator".
- Answer the User Account Control dialogue window that is opened affirmatively.
- Change the settings to suit your preferences.
- Press "OK".
This worked once. Then, after becoming foolhardy at that success, I tried to load my game in fullscreen. It crashed. After a few attempts and a few failed fixes I gave up on that and tried to return to the default resolution in Classic RO and... wouldn't work anymore.
So I uninstalled RO entirely, re-installed it, have been right-clicking and picking 'run as administrator', and every time I try to play Classic RO it opens in that tiny, tiny window. Right-clicking 'Setup_Classic' and opening it as an administrator opens the setup menu, but there is nothing in the drop-down menu where resolution options would be. I have no options. And running on fullscreen still crashes the game. I've tried various other fixes like moving the game to a different folder and downloading a new dinput.dll and nothing's working. It's especially aggravating when I got it to work and then borked it being greedy.
I'm running Windows 8, if that's of any help.
Oh, and it's the same for Revival RO, no resolution options at all in the setup menu. Though that game doesn't work for an entirely different reason.

This problem occurs due to the RO client not being fully compatible with Windows 8.
Try the following:
- Navigate to your client folder in File Explorer.
- Right-click the file named Setup.exe and then choose "troubleshoot compatibility".
- Choose "try recommended settings".
- Press "test the program".
- The Renewal version of the Ragnarök Online client's configurator should open. If the "graphic setting" and "screen size" fields are now both working, then customise them according to your preferences and then press "OK". Otherwise, close the configurator, press "cancel", and then tell me that it didn't work.
- Press "next".
- Press "yes, save these settings for this program".
Update: lien sent me a private message informing me that completing the preceding procedure resolved the problem.
