I don't want to rule out software/hardware related issues just yet, even though the same problem persists on two different hardware/software configurations. For one, you can practically expect ragnarok online to work oddly in windows 8.

• On your Windows 8 system: Try running Ragnarok Online (specifically, Ragexe.exe, might as well do it for Setup.exe too) in in Windows XP compatibility mode. Try disabling UAC for Ragnarok.exe and Ragexe.exe too. All these files can be found in the folder where you installed Ragnarok Online (Usually C:\Program Files\Gravity\Ragnarok Online\)
• Are you running the game in full screen mode? If so, try running it in windowed mode. An error message might become visible.
• Are you using protection software (antivirus, etcetera)? If so, you might want to disable those temporarily.

Problem resolved. If anyone else has problems with windows 8 or whatever tell them to change their power settings to maximum performance and to reset their modem like unplug it for 10 seconds then plug it in and also on screen settings don't put it on full screen instead just put the highest screen resolution that they can and wala (don't know if I spelled that right) but anyways that's what I did and it solved all my disconnecting issues and everything oh and I also had to turn off the effects.

OH! You were using fullscreen mode on windows 8 machine? Yeah that doesn't work.

Still doesn't explain the similar issue on WinXP though.

Yeah I tried full window but no it didn't work so I just put it on the highest screen resolution and it pretty much is full screen lol,as for my desktop I think it just maybe the computer itself cause it is old and is having issues but not sure but anyways thank you sooo much for time trying to help me. I greatly appreciate and am happy that I can actually play now.

hmm this might sound rediculous, but hear me out. This problem might be due to poor wireless reception. My computer has these weird wi-fi frequencies, which can get disrupted by wireless devices attached to it, such as wireless mouse and wireless headsets, while iw as using my wireless mouse playign rag i would get disconnected every 15-30m. When i switched to my wired mouse, no more problems, i can afk all day if i wanted to. So try it out, remove your wireless mouse (i'm assuming since everyone uses wireless these days) and plug in a wired one.

No, that sounds entirely plausible because Wi-Fi is very susceptible to interference.

Oh! And the two computers were near eachother, so it took out wifi for both of them!

Really, wifi is not fit for gaming. There are all sorts of issues like this.

Would have shown up on a trace too, most likely.
