That's the thing he gets from hitting start when opening up classic after it patched. He still gets the music from the game but nothing else happens.

When he opens up the renewal patch he can open it up and everything goes well, just classic.

That and when I try to adjust the screen sizes, there are no resolutions on the list.

Have you run the classic setup as admin and selected an appropriate screen resolution?

IIRC, in some cases, the default screen resolution was being set to something like 40x140; all you needed to do to fix was set it to something appropriate.

What is this, a client for ANTS?

... do what Azzy said. I'd suggest cut/pasting the RO Folder OUTSIDE of Program Files into a directory that is not UAC protected so this issue stops happening. I had this problem -- unlike Renewal, Classic doesn't check for a valid settings file for some reason.

Try this:

  • Navigate to your client folder in Windows Explorer.
  • Right-click the file Setup_Classic.exe and then choose "run as administrator".
  • Answer the User Account Control dialogue window that is opened affirmatively.
  • If desired, change the settings to suit your preferences.
  • Press "OK".

Gravity need to modify clragexe.exe so that it opens Setup_Classic.exe instead of Setup.exe.

Basically I uninstalled, deleted the entire folder, reinstalled, ran as admin to patch, set my windows 8 compatibility, went to the installer file and repaired ragnarok, ran the compatability test and it freakin' game works..And I deleted the registry too before I did everything.
