I'm experiencing this problem too and I just was playing this afternoon. So its strange for it to suddenly not to connect at all. I can't even get to my characters!

theres maintenance going on right now so know one can connect, however the OP was made before the maintenance, so i dont know about that

At what point are you getting failed to connect?
