Greetings all,
Now I am sure many of you may of already heard about this about a million times already but I just wanted to bring this up one more time since I haven't played Ragnarok Online in about a year or two and could not find any help regarding my issue. Here goes..
So I downloaded the client last night in hopes of rekindling the romance that was Ragnarok Online. I just recently got off playing Ragnarok Online 2 and was in mere nostalgia. However, due to some issues with Ragnarok Online 2 (glitches, bugs, community base), I took a hiatus from it. I stumbled upon a bit of searching and found that Ragnarok Online was still up and running and so I decided to download the client. Everything goes according to plan: download is fine, updater works correctly, account name is linked through WarpPortal, until I reached a wall. What happens is when I tried to connect to the server, it fails to connect to any one of the servers. Now call me a newbie or whatever you'd like but does it matter which client I run? For example, if I wanted to play in Chaos, could I run Ragnarok Online Classic or would I have to run the normal client? Everything is all patched and good to go but I just can't connect to the character select screen. Does it matter if I patch the Sakray client or not? I have tried patching the Sakray client once and the problem still was not solved. My initial observation was that the character select screen was down because I found some threads, dated far back, that it has happened a few times before. However, it seems people are logging in and out just fine (as indicative of the numbers going up and down). I also read up about port forwarding but to no avail because there was already a thread that stated it was not necessary. I am kind of new to the whole procedure. Is there anything anyone can suggest?
The following are my system specs:
Operating system: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-Bit)
Processor: Intel Core i3
RAM: 4gb
Video card: GeForce GTX 550 Ti
Internet connection: Time Warner Cable
I have tried searching up numerous threads in regards to my issue but never found a cookie-cutter solution for my problem. It seems that most of the threads were outdated as well. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I have not installed any other Ragnarok Online client other than this one.

To play on Chaos, you must use the ragnarok.exe (please do run it as an admin). If you try to access characters on classic using the ragnarok.exe client or renewal characters using the classic exe you will receive the failed to connect to server error message.

Thanks for the reply. I just tried your suggestion and I am still encountering the same error. When I log in it just says "Please wait..." then bam, "Failed to connect to server." I am running everything under administrator also.

The connection is being blocked by some sort of security or firewall software (including possibly windows firewall, depending on it's settings) on your computer, or your network administrator has blocked access to the game.

I've adjusted my windows firewall = no avail.
I've turned off and even uninstalled my anti-virus = no avail.
I've allowed access through my windows firewall using a variety of methods = no avail.
I've port forwarded a few ports (for sake of doing it) = no avail.
I just can't connect to the character select screen for some unbeknownst reason. I remember the game working for me once before but that was on a different computer. Sad to say I guess I might just have to move on.

P.S: Would I need to patch up the Sakray client in order for it to work or that doesn't matter?

You only need to do that if you want to play on Sakray.
To clarify, at exactly what point does the error occur? After you enter your account credentials, or after you choose a server?
