Is there anything that can be done on my end or anything that the GMs can do to fix this issue because it is the most frustrating thing ever. Every time i open a patch client it just says "Failed to connect to patch server". There is like a 10,000 to 1 chance that it actually works. It is soo -_- annoying. Help please.

I don't see why people still use Comcrap, despite all the warnings.

Pretty much had the same issue around here but I dont use comcast, I just googled OpenDNS and followed the instructions. No longer do I have to worry about my ISP failing me unless the modem dies.

The said googling was done on a mobile device since I couldnt connect to any games, any ineternet browsers, or anything that involved an internet connection. Yet my internet connection was "Online" at the time...

I recommend OpenDNS (https://www.opendns.com/) over Google DNS for a public DNS alternative. But either way both are 101% better then comcast's DNS.

OpenDNS inserts advertisements into web pages you view.

OpenDNS inserts advertisements into web pages you view.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

That should work well enough unless the page can't load without the ads for some reason.

It is resolving the problem for most Comcast users, but Gravity need to liaise with Comcast to find a permanent solution.

These don't appear to be free services though, hopefully a better solution can be found.

I haven't read through the whole google dns page and was wondering if someone knows if you do have to pay to set up google dns because the poster above me seems to think so. Thanks.

Read FAQ on the page and it says "Google Public DNS is a free, global Domain Name System (DNS) resolution service, that you can use as an alternative to your current DNS provider." So it seems free but feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Google Public DNS is completely free.

Thanks. Yeah, I know someone who cannot currently patch but has been playing this game a long time and this seems like the likely solution to his problem.

I just wanted to post here that yes, I was also having a problem with ragnarok pages loading and I also have comcast as my ISP (they have a monopoly in my area). I couldn't download the game because nothing would load. So I googled this problem and found this thread about comcast's DNS failure. After swapping to google DNS the problem was immediately fixed and I haven't had a problem with ragnarok loading since.

I was also having problems with pandora getting stuck between songs and hulu commercials freezing and requiring me to refresh it. Swapping to google DNS fixed both of those problems as well.

Honestly Comcast is a piece of -_- company.

Thank you for this thread.

Have you ever considered that some people just don't have the luxury of having other options? :
