Ragnarok Monster Lore : Dark Lord
This Monster Lore is based from actual Extensive Research from all Ragnarok Source . Despite from the lack of information , the author have decide put her own interpretation in the information based from the information that was provided. This Lore is open for discussion and debates.
Dark Lord is a demon of immense power native to the Realm of Fiends.
His physical manifestation can be found in Glast Heim, in the Church yard inside St. Abbey. When confronted he will summon Dark Illusions.
Dark Lord is an MVP in Glast Heim. His dark presence there seems to be the reason of all the swarming undead and demonic creatures in the area.
Not much is known about Dark Lord's origins or position in his realm. It is said that while in the Realm of Fiends his strength is at its fullest. His power is so immense.
As powerful as Dark Lord is, the life force in the realm of Midgard conflicts with his dark nature and drains a large portion of his power when attempting to enter it. Because of this Dark Lord can only create manifestations of himself that are only a small fraction of his power, but still devastating in strength.
These manifestations are most commonly seen in Glast Heim. Why he picks the decrepit bastion as his gateway is unkown.
It is revealed through the Sign Quest that Niflheim is a realm that poses no opposition to Dark Lord's presence, unlike Midgard. However he cannot enter it on his own and requires a summoning.
Were Dark Lord be successful in accessing Niflheim, he would be able to enter Midgard easily while retaining most of his powers and with them the ability to destroy the realm.
Author Interpretation
In some debates it is said that the Dark Lord that resides in Glast Heim was infact the last King of Glast Heim , King Schmitz. He was said to be summoning demons at his side and seeking immortality. His effort in getting the powers from the Dark Lord was actually a trick from the demon into getting the Dark Lord into the human realm. Despite his best effort ,the attempt failed.Although Dark Lord still manage to get some fraction of his power through the human realm.
It is a mystery to us either Dark Lorn that is in the Human Realm now is actually the transformation of King Schmitz into Dark Lord or if he was consumed by Dark Lord. Some suggestion is that King Schmitz did not turn or consumed by the Dark Lord , he was merely changed into the Dark Frame after he was captured by those who opposed the Dark Lord.
There is some writing regarding the event in the Royal History Book too.
King Schmitz sacrificed humans to demons in hopes of attaining immortality. He was finally overthrown in A.W. 529 by his cousin, Grenholm Von Gaebolg, that led a coup de etat against him. Grenholm's rebel troops defeated the royal army, and advanced unopposed to Glast Heim Palace. Upon entering Glast Heim Palace, Grenholm's soldiers encountered a demon army that King Schmitz had summoned from hell. Many of Grenholm's soldiers perished in the violent struggle, but they eventually triumphed over their enemies. They saw the extent of King Schimtz's lunacy when they finally captured him in a small tower in Glast Heim Palace: his body was mutated and misshapen since he had experimented on it in his quest to attain the immortality enjoyed by demons.
The ward captain entered the captive king's room a few months later, and found that Schmitz had vanished. There was a large scale investigation, and it was discovered that the king used a mysterious demonic power to hide in his room's mirror. Schmitz was finally desposed, and Grenholm claimed the crown. His first action as king was a return to tradition, moving the royal family back to Prontera Palace.

King Schmitz - founder of Royal Guards. Summoner of Dark Lord
Appearance
Dark Lord is a very tall and towering entity . His body is entirly made up of bones and darkness swirl around his body. His head is fitted with the floating halo .
He also have two pairs of red eyes and his head is fitted with a pair of long bony horns .
In addition to that, he have a summoning vortex rotating underneath and fitted behind his cape.
The one underneath have a circular triangle pattern , while the on on his cape have a pentagram pattern with a circular outline.

Dark Lord in the Anime
Dark Lord is the main antagonist in the Ragnarok the Animation. He was also known to be the greatest representation of pure evil within Rune-Midgard since he was said to show all his noticeable superiority to all other monsters in the story .
Dark Lord was the greatest evil among the other monsters in the story . He was also the mastermind who occured various events throughout the series . Dark Lord was also very devious and thoroughly cunning as he was shown that he also manipulated Keough , Zephyr and Zealotus into serving him for his timely revival . He also shows his great superiority to all other monsters as he believed that the monsters have rightful to live in this world and with that , he plans to destroy all humanity for he believes that humans are disgusting creatures who will opposed him . Only then will he allowed the monsters will rule under his leadership .
However , he revealed his true motive of being evil and twisted as he had no qualms of claiming others' lives , for example for he immediately betrayed and killed his minions (It became clear that he knew that some of his minions are holding each crystals as well.)
In addition , he also seems to have multiple personalities , which both of them are equally evil in nature . However , it actually turned out that he had two different voices , despite due to the fact that he had actual personalities in this rate .
During the final battle in Glast Heim , he uses the powers of the crystals to create Dark Illusions , which he ordered them to stop Roan , Maya , and Judia . At the same time , he also killed both Keough and Zephyr during their confrontations with Iruga and Takius and thus , claiming their crystals in the process . With all the crystals , Dark Lord immediately awaken once more and broke the seal before appearing into the area , where both Roan and Yufa were . Shortly after Yufa was freed from his corruption and Roan was healed once more , both of them tried to attack him with all their attacks . However , Dark Lord easily deflected all their attacks with the powers of the crystals , which also make him more powerful . Just when Maya eventually destroyed the Seven Ambitions , Dark Lord eventually became weaker and powerless . Enraged , he tried to kill Roan and Yufa with Meteor Storm but Takius's Spell Breaker eventually save both of them . Then , Dark Lord was attacked by both Maya and Judia , who survived the battle with Dark Illusions . Roan then attacked him and Yufa immediately sealed him once more with her Magnus Exorcismus , which then sealed Dark Lord from the scene .
Later , Dark Lord was confined in the seal once more . Just then , Baphomet arrives and told Dark Lord that he was tired of his brutality (It appears that Baphomet already forseen that it was Dark Lord himself who murdered Zealotus .) before destroying the seal , which also killed Dark Lord in the process .
Thanks to the efforts of Roan and the surviving party , Rune-Midgard was freed at last from Dark Lord's reign of terror .
