This problem started relatively recently. When I started playing official RO again a few weeks ago, I found that sometimes when I'd enter a room or new map (basically anything that requires a portal to reach), the mouse would become unable to click on anything. It moves fine, the buttons and cursors change/light up when they should, the keyboard commands work fine, even the little green box on the landscape shows up.
But clicking does nothing.
The mouse is the same one I've been using for a long time, and there haven't been any issues before, or now with private servers.
I've tried playing with the setup.exe, the 'mouse exclusive' setting, tabbing doesn't fix it. Only completely exiting and logging back in resets it.

Alt+tab to another window, then alt+tab back to RO.

Once it happens a few times, and you fix it like that, it won't come back until you restart the client.

It's lag. I'm encountering this on my computer as well. Just give it a few minutes and things start working again. It's quite annoying.
