Did you try loading Classic too? (Assuming that you were loading the normal client there)

I'm trying to run Classic, not the normal client. I just tried repairing the files with the installer and no dice...
Going to try to see if the normal client works if not I guess I'll have to re-download/reinstall. :/
Edit: Normal client works just fine apparently... I really wanna play on Classic though.

oh yeah now I rmember. Classic has a different thing to set up resolution then renewal. go to the install folder and find Setup_classic change the resolution on that setup and click save that should fix it. also make sure you update both clients.

Redownloading and reinstalling the client would have had as much effect as waving a crystal over your computer. A much better use of your time would have been to simply search this forum for an existing answer to your problem.

Why are you picking on his background?maybe it was your desktop background.....
It's nice and dark so the windows show up on it, yet has a bold and distinctive pattern on it. I mean, I don't know what the decor is like around his computer, if it's a desktop - so it might clash with the drapes or something... but I see no reason to criticize. I'm not into MLP, but that's a matter of personal taste.
It ticks all the boxes for a good desktop background -
It should be a pattern or image against which applications and icons stand out (check)
The average brightness should be low to reduce eye-strain (and burn-in if used with a CRT monitor) (check)
If it contains images rather than a repeating pattern, it should be a bold and simple design, so as not to clutter the screen and distract the eye (check)
It should not be pornographic, since that would cause trouble if you needed to post screenshots when requesting technical support (check)
Aesthetically, it should be pleasing to the primary user and not offensive (morally or aesthetically) to other authorized users, and if it's a stationary system, it should not clash with the decor. We can't assess it on these grounds, of course...
