Apparently the new patch corrupted some of our clients and is causing an infinite loop of errors. Since the admins and mods are all asleep, ill repost this from tech support forums for those struggling to get in game.



try this step first:

Download this patch.inf to your ragnarok folder, replacing the one that was already there. Run the patch client.




if that alone doesnt work then you may also need to do this step:

For windows 7 users:

1st Look for the ragnarok folder on your c drive
2nd right click the folder and choose previous versions
3rd click last week folder 5-17-13 and open it
4th look for the data.grf file and place it on your desktop
5th make a new folder on the desktop and take the data.grf from where your ragnarok folder is on your c drive and put it in the new folder
6th take the one from last week folder that's on your desktop and put it in the ragnarok folder on your c drive
I did that and now i'm able to log on the game

Although Renou does not recommend to take the win 7 1-6 step method.

As for me the patch.inf worked - my other comp, I just had to reinstall RO and it also worked.

This can happen if you missed the May 8 patches (which contained accessoryid.lub and accname.lub) somehow. Today's patch (containing accname.lub but not accessoryid.lub) requires the updated accessoryid.lub to function.

For windows 7 users:

1st Look for the ragnarok folder on your c drive
2nd right click the folder and choose previous versions

i have a feeling that all of the people that were seeing pink hats instead of the moon costume were effected by this. for some reason that patch never took for us


i did both steps on mine and its working fine now



btw now that i have your attention, can you give me the monster ID# for the byorgue mercinarys in rachel? i need to program my homunculus to ignore them so i can continue to level him up there ><

Definitely it then. That was the update that changed the sprite used from pink hat to the correct one.

The patch client is extremely unreliable and if it fails to patch for any reason, such as a running client using data.grf, it'll skip those patches forever. We've been complaining about this for a long time now but it doesn't look like they're interested in fixing it.

i did both steps on mine and its working fine now. although i did the swap out first THEN repatched wtih the inf, so im not sure if the first step was even necessary or not. the guy above says that just patching didnt work for him, so it may be necessary to do both

That's fine--repatching effectively cancels out the swap.
