I'd just like to know more about this. I was lucky enough to be on when one occurred and got some decent things from the boxes.
Pandora:

• Event starts at xx:00 and ends after exactly an hour.
• Times are EVERY DAY - 4AM, 12PM, 4PM PDT. (UTC -7)
• mobs must be within 5 levels of your character for optimal drop rate. anything lower has a significantly lower drop rate.
• If you don't know anything else about the event, Pandora boxes and Pandora mallets drop for an hour.

Karnium:

• drops off Dungeon bosses and Raid bosses during event.
• Event starts at xx:00, ends after exactly an hour.
• Times are EVERY DAY - 12AM, 8AM, 8PM PDT. (UTC -7)
• 5 level drop rule (see above)

Kinda disappointing to find out about an event from public chat, because it isn't announced anywhere at all.

Anyway, That seems to mean that this will be a weekly thing.
Can anyone confirm for me that farming low-level mobs won't work?

The best weapons you can get right now from them are the "Ferocious Pandora" weapons.

they're about on par with a good 43 weapon. So if you're 43 or above, mail your boxes/mallets to an alt to open them. if you've already got your Rare weapons anyway.
I haven't checked the accessories, but I'd assume they're also on par with 43s.

I was there for the whole thing, but all I got was what looks like a pretty awesome weapon for a monk... bound to my mage... yay... and some regular potions :S

Yeah I got Knuckles of the Ferocious Pandora as well.
also got (Epic) Ornament of Pandora and (advanced) Necklace of Pandora

Since I missed it on friday I was glad that today would be one too. But it's not working apparently. No drop yet in 45 minutes (killing 50s as a level 50).

I wasn't on to experience this myself, but since a number of people are saying the same thing I'll assume it's true.
I'll see if I can catch a GM's attention.

That's true, I've been rampaging on different lvl monsters too, first I thought it doesn't drop because I was killing lower lvl monsters. But even when I killed a bunch of monsters the same lvl as me, still nothing. Unhappy hour indeed :'<

happy hour needs to actually apply a buff to your character that counts down and enables these drops. having it as a text announcement is so archaic. it isn't even timestamped...
