Economy Issue Update 6/17/13

We want to make sure you're still kept up to date about what we are doing to make sure that the economy doesn't stay crazy.
We have already banned multiple accounts that were caught utilizing a zeny exploit, which is how they were able to purchase the items and then make their own, super high prices for the items. Our GMs are still currently going through accounts that were suspicious and getting rid of the ones that have violated the game's policies.
We understand that there were players who took advantage of the high prices and sold their items to cash in on the zeny that was available. We plan on returning the items that were sold and removing the zeny from the players. We understand how this can seem unfair to some, but it is vital in order to restore the economy to a point that is fair for everyone.
I have been approached by players who say that they may have information on accounts that may have been involved in the exploit or botting. Please continue to report those botters through our ticket system so that our GMs can investigate. If you have any information that is game-breaking (like a zeny exploit), feel free to PM myself or Zanbee to let us know.
This first started by a group of zeny sellers who didn't like that we were banning their accounts and removing upwards of 20 million zeny from their pockets, and they decided to take their remaining accounts and try and wreck the market. We have dealt with them, and are continuing to deal with anyone who pops up and tries to harm the game.
We will try and address your questions as they come, as well.
Hope this helps.

My question (I'm sure others are wondering):
How do you intend to remove the zenny from players that bought and Re-sold NPC items?
For example, someone mentioned you could buy countless Yggdrasil Leaves, and then re-sell them to the NPC in order to cover your tracks.
Or do you have a way of tracking that type of thing?
Just curious. I appreciate the quick response to try and restore the economy

Mostly referring to the zeny exploit though. I just hope that kRO's sending us a fix for it.

I'm not quite sure that laundering works like that in a video game, considering that Zeny is a number and not an item that could be tracked. With that said, the GMs have made it clear that theres logs of all trades and transactions. Even if someone DID NPC 'launder' the GMs would still be able to see 1) their original zeny total, 2) what item they AHed, 3) how much they got for it before they NPCed the Zeny, and 4) how much of it was NPCed.
To me, the more important question is: What will happen with the people who benefitted from a sale and then proceeded to launder their money by spending it all and them giving the items bought to friends/guildies/alts for safe keeping? Or burned it on Karnium for upgrades? Or Costume Fused like there was no tomorrow, selling along the way?

I think some will get away with it and some will get punished
if they go through the accounts and no rollback, that's just how it goes
these players like keeping the gm's busy lol
they only have so much time in the day to watch this stuff, they out numbered

Destroy the evidence of massive zeny by buying items and you make yourself safe... Smart people, wish I won big during this all...
