Registration for our July 20th PVP tournament is here. This is the second in our series of summertime tournaments designed to get people training and pumped up for our USRC tournament in August! 
 
We are not going to be traveling to RWC this year, so we are focused on making this USRC the main event with some very cool prizes for the people playing and the people watching. 
 
The rules and setup are going to be the same as the Summer Opener tournament, with teams of 7 versus 7 in a Best of 3 fight to the death. 
 
The tournament takes place on Renewal Sakray on JULY 20th, 11am PDT. Teams must be present by 10:45am PDT or receive the dreaded DQ.
 
One of each class allowed per team, you are not allowed to receive buffs from characters not on your team. 

 

Need to have a minimum of 8 teams registered by the cut-off date to run the tournament.

Regarding  Prizes, we are looking to add more to these (WPE) but I am waiting on confirmation. At the very least the prizes will be the same as the June tournament.

Participation prize: all participants receive 1 Old Card Album

Third Place: Champion's Helm
Second Place: Champion's Helm+Choice of any headgear from the tournament headgear list
First Place: Champion's Helm+Choice of headgear from the list+ Upgrade of an item of choice to +10

The date is set for all three tournaments as stated in the OP, I'm just separating where people register for them.

The problem is that we only have one Sakray. Changing it over to Classic mechanics is a gigantic to-do for us and the IT team and we can't split it up.

Oh I remember we did this 2011 with 90/60 limits right? But same limited gears available via NPCs.

How about separate NPC w/5 maps that can only let non-3rd jobs.

Maybe make a Sakray 2/another server for Pre-R mechanics.

ODa, have any accomodations been made to make practicing more "pleasant"? Aka intermissions during practice?

We very much would want to NOT have renewal mechanics for the classic USRC. What I meant is that the reason why the Classic USRC is last in the scheduling is that we need that time to change the mechanics back to pre-renewal.

 

For the people asking about making a second Sakray I had asked about that when we were first coming up with these tournaments and we do not have the available server hardware to host even a temporary Classic Sakray.

How about this, Oda:

Add an NPC to the Novice Training grounds next to Shion.

 

If you are a 1/1 Novice, this NPC will warp you to an arena map and automatically save you there.

 

No storage, no kafra, no mail, warp portal and teleport disabled, the works.

 

This map will have the USRC NPCS: Gears, consumables, free 90/60 and job change (or 85/60 for the applicable classes).  The map would also be shut off from the rest of the game.  You can only enter as a 1/1 regular novice, and you can never leave.

 

It will have access of 4 new GvG rooms for USRC practice.  You don't need to implement rules such as consumable/class limitations/number limitations - let the players handle this themselves.

 

Aka, let the Classic USRC practice just happen on the Classic server.

 

Just be doubly sure that there's no way out.
