This is a pretty big thing so I'm pretty shocked there's only one other pet thread out there! I'm still trying to wrap my head around this stuff and I'm sure others are too, so why not just make a thread where you can discuss anything about the things?

 

I currently only have a Rocker as I was trying for the cape but soon realized who jesus you need a lot of DNA to level up. I think the sheer amount required is way too much, even on common mobs, and it's going to be hell on field/dungeon bosses. If you needed say, 10 DNA strands to level up your summon I think that'd be much more tolerable than currently, and 6-7 each on the field/dungeon bosses. I'm fine for having something take a long time to grind out for good results, but getting 4 DNA pieces for a chance at being able to create a single DNA strand seems overboard. Perhaps up the drop rate of DNA?

 

I also have farmed up 5 Lurker DNAs and I'm wondering if he is worth it;. Should I try cashing in on them while the craze is hot to earn a bunch of zeny, or is he a good pet? His window text says "Debuff" without anything specific -- what exactly does he do? Another curiosity is about Marinesphere -- do they still have the crazy damage output they do in Sea God?

 

I think the respawn timers on field bosses may need to be lowered a bit, it's actually getting difficult to even find free channels where Lurker Fly isn't dead.

 

I'm also curious about what "health debuffs" are, as in the case of Strouf.

 

What have your experiences been so far? Have you got any pets you think are really good?

I haven't made any pets yet. I've grinded with a friend for 4 hours and got DNA for 8 pets so far. I haven't made any yet since I want to know which pets does what. Does anyone actually have a list for that?

 

My friend was in love with her Flip though. Pretty strong for a little guy!

Yeah, Rocker does this too but debuffs STR. I'm guessing it's 4% per stage, maxing at 16%? If so, certain pets could be very valuable when maxxed and be a solution to issues people are having in CoA.

I wonder if there could be an option to have the pet only for aestethics, even if they are unable to attack or do anything else than wander around xP. I was excited about catching a lots of leafkitten, but after reading that the pets have a supershort duration I don't know if I like this kind of pets =x

the more achievment progress you have the lower the cooldown, with 100% is 20 cooldown(2 pets at same time?)

I was looking at the main site, and it says that the monsters drop Binding Protein, is that correct? I've been fighting random monsters on and off, and so far i've come across quite a bit of dna, but no protein.

Pretty sure its impossible to reach lvl 4 atm. Some mobs in the book dont even exist here yet.

And even if they did, good luck reaching 100%

Pet's shouldn't have to last a variety of seconds to be honest. The term of pets shouldn't mean they run away from you like wild animals.

 

They are no better than what profession guardians are.

It's those stupid devs' idea of pets. This is all we got better accept it now.

Monsters do drop protein. It's just a little hard to come by. In about 4 hours, I got 42 of them (though I had to split it with my farming partner).

Is it like the pandora box's where it drops better if you're fighting monsters around your level? I've been farming the low level monsters when people aren't around , been  almost an hour and have gotten no protein. Though i do stop and wait if people come by who need the monsters for quests and stuff.

I don't know about that. We started at porings and barely made it past creamies.

 

On another note, we need a Professor Oak to compile these monster data. Or at least an RO2 Monsterdex.

Ok so it look me about an hour, to get 1 protein from the lower level monsters, and you need more as you level right?

I'm getting pretty annoyed by the rarity of the G gene. Not quite sure it was made so rare? Why can't it be a completely random 1/4 gene?

Decided to use my Lurker Fly fragments.. score! Managed to get him. He actually spawns really really tiny like a chonchon bebe, it's funny.

 

Anywho, he has a STR debuff of 16% at base and seems to hit around 700-800 per hit. It's really destroying tanks in colo.

Anywho, managed to farm myself a Strouf pet. Whenever it hits something they get a -8% VIT debuff, however their health doesn't change. It's probably bugged but if it did work, jesus that'd be broken in raids.

Basically, debuffs and buffs depend on the Stars of the Pet (Multiples of 4% for debuffs, 1% on buffs). Damage is relative to your own damage, for example a Poring hits for 200+ on my Geared Ranger, but a Rackful only hits for 20+ on a lvl 15 Aco.
