Characters
Solomian La Christ: Geffen's prodigy. After reaching the age of 24, his skill had already surpassed that his teacher, Elder Geddenhard. Being an orphan, Solomian had no real family and instead saw a father figure in the Elder. Thanks to Solomian's research, Geffen was able to create an elixir that could stop aging completely. Both Solomian and the Elder have used this elixir and have gained a sense of immortality. He is also a genius engineer, able to create almost anything just from seeing a concept. This has lead him to create many living machines such as his servants Alicil and Aliot, as well as his deceased friend Kiel.
Kiel D-01: Solomian's greatest creation and best friend. A machine infused with the soul of his best friend, Kiel, who lost his life due to an unknown illness. While not perfect, Kiel still retains most of his past-life memories and emotions. Not much is known about Kiel aside from the fact that he was a Geffen scholar who worked very closely with Solomian.
Chapter I: Aftermath
In the heart of Sograt, the smell of sweat and blood fill the once peaceful desert. No life is to be found except for injured infantry, a mysterious warrior brandishing a large black sword, and a terrifying beast that lie dead in a crater. Sent by the Geffen Magic Academy, alchemist/engineer Solomian La Christ is given the task of taking samples of this creature in order to learn what it is, where it came from, and what its true purpose was. After arriving to the blood soaked battlefield, Solomian is told the story about how the great hero Thanatos killed the beast that came from under the sand. Upon talking to Thanatos, it is revealed that this beast is known as Satan Morroc, Thanatos's brother, who in jealousy of his brother's power, tried to obtain an even greater power by combining the DNA of fearsome monsters with his own. Unfortunately, his body was too weak to handle it and within days, he was completely consumed by what he tried to control and had become what is known as Satan Morroc. Impressed that Thanatos could kill such a terror, Solomian asked for a blood sample so they could possibly find a way to make their soldiers able to better handle themselves when a serious threat arises. As injured as he was, getting a sample was as easy as wiping the middle of his forehead. After a quick farewell, Solomian extracted a vial of blood from the defeated Satan Morroc and started his journey back to Geffen to present his superiors with the blood samples.
Chapter II: Friends Till The End
Finally out of the battlefield, Solomian starts to see that life in the desert is as it should be. Metallers are dancing and Peco Pecos are running wild as always. But one thing is out of place. On the horizon, a cloud of sand can be seen. Too small for a sand storm but too big for an animal. Soon enough, a large figure can be seen in front of the cloud. As it gets closer, it's become obvious that it is Kiel D-01, Solomian's greatest creation and best friend. At the speed he's moving, it must be urgent. Kiel finally comes to a hault in front of his master only to deliver rather upsetting news. "Master! I'm glad I managed to catch you before your return!" "Huh? What's wrong Kiel?" Solomian asks. "When I heard that we were going to do research on that terrible monster I decided to go through the archives to try to find some relevant information that might help us out a bit. But when I was checking some of the book shelves in Geffen Tower, I knocked over a few books by mistake and found a button. When I pressed it, a hidden door opened up. What I found in there was the disturbing truth behind this whole mission. They don't want to study that monster at all. They want to extract its DNA to create a breed of powerful mages to destroy Prontera and take over all of Midgard. They're just using us to feed their lust for power. Anyone who rebels against them will be executed on the spot and the first victim is going to be...you." Solomian turns completely white and has to sit down, unable to respond to his best friend. After a minute of silence, Solomian finally stands up and faces Kiel. His usual cheery face was gone. In its place was a sense of emptiness and a stare that would haunt the dreams of even the bravest warriors. "So this is what I am to them? Nothing more than a tool? A pawn in their game for domination? Since I was a child I worked day and night to help them with anything and everything I possibly could. They were my only family. THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME?!?! Just toss me aside without thinking twice... That's fine. I still have what you want. WHAT YOU NEED!!! I'll give it to you, don't you worry about that. You will witness this power you desire. I'll show you why you should never toy with other people's lives..." Kiel, who is shocked to see his master losing his sanity, tells him "You've given me life and all I could ever want. You know I'll support you whatever you decide to do. So...where shall we start?"
Chapter III: A Wanted Man
A week had passed since the last sight of Solomian. He has fled in persuit of revenge, but his whereabouts are unknown. Meanwhile, back in Geffen, Elder Geddenhard used the schematics from Kiel D-01 to create his personal weapon, Kiel MK-II. This new Kiel it superior in combat, but lacks a soul. After installing an older copy of model D-01's memory, MK-II is able detect the other Kiel and a rough location of where he is. After relaying the information to Geddenhard, it appears that they have fled to Lighthalzen of the Republic of Schwartzvalt. Unfortunately, no legal persuit can be taken as they are not on Rune-Midgart's Kingdom soil. Geddenhard quickly sets a bounty on Solomian's head and sends word to Prontera. Within a few hours, a team of mercenaries have assembled to take Solomian down, return the stolen DNA, and collect the bounty of 4,000,000 Zeny. After arriving in Geffen, the team is given a quick briefing on their target and his location. The group of 4, a rogue, followed by a warrior, assassin, and ranger, head to the north gate to start their journey to Lighthalzen. Just before they arrive at the gate, the rogue spots a man harassing a woman and it's starting to get violent. "Just let it go man" The assassin says to the rogue. "It's not our problem. She probably did something to deserve it anyw..." Before he has a chance to finish his sentence, the rouge runs to the man at a blistering speed and slams him to the ground, cracking the stone walkway and knocking him unconscious instantly. "Thank you so much sir! Nobody has ever stood up for me before. It was.....pretty heroic" She says as she blushes. "Please let me thank you somehow. My name is Bonbon, what's your name?" The rouge pauses for a second and replies "He won't bother you again. I don't have time for thanks right now. Important business to take care of." He starts to walk back to his group, still talking to her as he's walking "You can thank me when I return. Dinner would be nice. By the way..." He turns to face her "The name's Klyde" Klyde reunites with the group and they exit Geffen. Onward to Lighthalzen.
