So I'm trying to level my shadow chaser, but my damage is pretty sad. My arrow storms are only doing like 9-12k dmg. I am using an orc bow with steel arrows for weapon and currently have like 110 dex with job bonus and vip bonus. I do use converters whenever possible, but the dmg dif is almost unnoticeable its so low. What else can i do to boost my damage? Should I be using a different weapon to level up with or just focus on more ATK gear like BSB? 

 

Any help would be great, as its becoming very hard to solo level now due to my low damage

+9 FAW with EA9~10

Porcellio carded armor (+3 dex hidden enchant for the armor)

BSB+Shackles combo

RWC Ring with FS3 and dex+3 enchanted

BDM/Robo Eye

Well Chewed Pencil

 

+9 EMH with dark pinguicula carded (but I suggest using vanargand or RWH for sp regen)

 

Regardless, still deal less damage than ranger with plain WW set and elven bow.

no point investing big zeny to boost AS dmg for chaser. Once you get to high TI, Your AS barely tickles the monsters. Most SC are great pullers and disablers (frost nova,sg, etc).

A +9 orc archer bow and steel arrows will do just fine. No need for any additional expensive gears just for AS.

You don't.Go ASS or make a ranger/wanderer/minsrel.SCs can only kill in low TI really funded guy can maybe kill mid.Normal SCs pull and tank mobs for TIs.

Why does no one go sword SC for leveling?

I've got 100 base str, a +7 triple malicious twin edge, and no other damage boosting gear (no megs, no BSB, no RWC rings). I do 10k Bowling Bashes and 32k Ignition breaks to scarabs with a fire endow. And because of the tri malicious, +9 vanargand, and nyd garb, I literally use ZERO pots to level. Zero of both hp and sp pots.

I can't say that ASS a leveling build. It is more like just-for-fun one.

Sure AS on a Chaser can't one shot mobs, but it is still a lot more useful than most classes in a TI environment.

Because they don't want to solo for one thing. Especially when there are ranged mobs. Ignition Break works best on monsters not resistant to Fire or are weak to it. The mob also has to be almost right next to you for maximum damage. Not everyone is patient enough to Backslide position mobs that have a 3 cell hit range. Ignition Break is just not favorable in a TI party for that reason, because monsters tend to be scattered pretty often. I have mentioned that this is a decent leveling option for SCs though.

for the armour, a byorgue carded armour would be nice imo

whats the point in "soloing" when there is low spawns in almost all maps and the need for like anything over 3x exp?

 

 

though.....you could lvl without any exp modifiers just not optimal.

I'm new to SC class and everyone in thief sub-forum always suggests me to play AS SC.

Is this kind of leveling, using IB/BB in scaraba gives better exp than AS SC in TI? (Assuming scaraba has less spawn rate and does not have TI exp reward)

If you're looking to level without TIs, then IB/BB at scarabs is probably the best exp you'll get.

With the kinds of monsters they've been giving lately for TIs, it can be a little more difficult to effectively mob them up to solo them with IB/BB. When they give monsters that mob extremely well though, it's -_-ing amazing exp. I remember one time doing 110 to 130 in half an hour when it was Abysmal Knights and Anolians.

If you're gonna do large party TIs, its easier to contribute with damage with Arrow Storm, because of it's long range and large AoE. You will NOT be able to solo with AS though. You're also completely reliant on finding a party in order to level.


During the last exp event, I was getting about 1 level every 10 minutes or so, starting at 128, by soloing Scarabs. That was without turning in the scarab half of the TI too. I haven't actually done a TI with people in a long time, so I don't know how it compares on average to what others usually take to complete a TI.

IB/BB is the way Rune Knights would solo. And Chasers can get near as much ATK as an RK, so really, its not much worse. Unlike AS, where you will be vastly inferior to a ranger at the skill.

 

I'd probably stick to AS tho, since I know how to do good damage with it. Less tanking of monster and easier elemental swapping. Plus, you can intimidate heal.
