Prizes? Voting Deadline?

The prize is just having your picture implemented.

We may be giving a participatory prize similar to the one from the Poring contest, but have yet to determine what it is.

Voting deadline is tentative for the 11th, but may be extended to include the weekend.

Actually, we're still considering giving prizes.

Due to the last minute implementation of the event, we didn't have enough time to look for prizes. We shall do that this week, but until then start drawing!

Questions:

Does it have to be drawn?

Can it be made from modified screen-shots from in-game (as long as we take them ourselves)?

Yeah, it has to be stylized/photoshopped. It can't be just a plain screenshot from the game. Oh and remember it has to fit the size requirements as well.

Yeah, I figured it couldn't just be a plain screen-shot. :p_laugh:

The reason I wanted to know is mainly because the only paper I have to draw on at the moment is line paper I use for doodles, and I don't exactly have a tablet, so everything drawn on computer is by mouse, which is tedious and time-consuming.

if you have scanner (or at least some not too horrible camera), it shouldn't be much of a problem

1. draw with pencils

2. once you're happy with your base drawing use some ink/marker pen or such to make lines more visible

3. carefuly erase pencils

4. scan (or take a decent photo in well lit environment

5. use Levels in Photoshop (or some other color correcting tool in whatever paint program you have - for example Gimp is free!) to make those lines stand out

6. add some coloring and shading inside paint program

* try to use as large picture (scan / resolution) as possible (that your PC can handle without horrible slowdown) and when you are done scale it down to needed final resolution

** you can also draw something on one paper with pencils/whatever and place another piece of paper on top and draw your "final version lines" on top of it

I know that. :p_laugh:  I appreciate you taking your time to write the response, regardless. :p_smile:

The point of the matter is that the lined paper is all of the paper I have. :p_laugh:  I don't even have a scanner, and I only have a cheap camera. All-in-all, screen-shots would be easier for me, doing a little photo manipulation, pulling bits and pieces from multiple screen-shots, adding a Halloween touch to the contents, and adding a background. Assuming I can get the free time to do it, I believe I can come up with something decent (or at least half-decent).

If you don't mind a little collaboration, I can offer to take your drawing taken from your camera, enlarge it in photoshop, print it out and I'll give you a nice clean trace of it from my lightbox, scan it in the best resolution my old scanner can do (300DPI) and send the file back to you in .jpeg  as a clean lineart.

I'm free this weekend so best start crackin' once monday comes around, I can only work on a little bit of it at night.
I'm thinking of something too, tho I suck at doing background so I'll do something simple.

I actually started working on the modifications of the screen-shots already. I invested an hour into it yesterday, and I'm nowhere near done. :p_laugh:

Finally done. :p_sick:

IGN: Darkness Zero

Description: Zombies, Skeletons, and Jack-o-Lantern Porings! Oh, my!

I modified quite a bit of the screen-shots I used to make this. It took me a total of 5 hours, actually. XD

I figured I'd not chip off any of Eremes' armor or anything, because he's just got that aura of awesome around him, so why wouldn't he be a well-preserved zombie? XD
