I expected champion monsters to have around 25~40% more life than their normal counterparts.

 

I came across this:

 

 

It had aproximately 35k life.

 

I mean, seriously, what the HELL? Those things have way too much HP.

First experience I've had was with - Plasma Ringleader 6x normal HP and slightly faster walk speed. I think this is the best thing to happen to Renewal.

I suggested this a while back, although it originally pertained to TI monsters.

 

I have a couple questions tho:

How common are they? Is it like an mvp or more of random monsters mixed in?

Also, what maps have them? Standard maps or special maps like the ghost pyramids?

They are mixed in and appear on every map.  Even South Prontera has them. (Solid Lunatics have over 200hp.  Poor novices)

ive killed Bigfoot, fabre, and geographer champions so far... the base exp wasnt super great but teh job exp was better... the bigfoot and fabre champions had mobs with them of teh normal versions

Are they naturally aggressive? E.g. those empowered lunatics

And what about boss property monsters, do they get champions too xD

they dont seem to be aggressive unless their normal monsters are...

I have no idea, but after I killed a Champion Metaling, I ran into another a little while later.

Note: A polymorphic accessory does work on them...I accidentally killed my third champion metaling by turning it into a fabre...

Champs in dimen gorge, they look large and in charge and soooo MUCH more HP!!

Sounds interesting, how much is their damage increased and do they have better drop chances?

Oh so that's what it was. I was wondering what those monsters are. So far the base exp has been about 3x more but the job exp is a lot better though. Around 10x+ I think.

I've also confirmed that they have different IDs from normal monsters, so they don't count towards quest kills.

Haha. I ran into a few of the champion scarabas. They're such a nice surprise to see. Although the 150 aura on them scared me at first and I wasn't sure what to expect. Holy cow though, the job exp off one of the scaraba ones was so nice.

As far as I've been told/seen, they are on every map. If you see a monster with an aura, and a modified name, it is one of the champion monsters. I found a champion Loli Ruri today when trying to tame some(finally got 3 tamed), it was definitely stronger(took 2 CC dealing 32k each, and one Bomb dealing 55k to kill). Didn't really pay attention to the drops, or even the EXP gained.
