Or so says some norse mythology experts anyway. Look forward for this to be another failed "Mayan prophecy" that people will get all hyped up about and you'll likely hear about in the near future.
I posted this because the little bit if insight into norse lore is nothing if not simply interesting and mildly educational, and it's obvious association with the title of this game we play.
The world will end in 100 days? Sounding of ancient trumpet in York warns of Viking apocalypse on 22 February 2014
A quote from the article:
"Norse mythology experts have calculated that Vikings believed this will take place on February 22, 2014.On this day, the god Odin will be killed by the wolf Fenrir and the other ‘creator’ gods.
Apparently Odin's going to die, we'd best inform kRO that Odin has 3 months to live so they can write it into their script (not like we'd see that update for more than a year anyway, well after we've all apparently sank into the sea and the new utopian earth is somehow formed).
I debated putting this into off topic, but considering the nature of ragnarok and the mythology surrounding this prediction, I figured it would better serve itself in this forum with the games core lore based almost completely around the reality of the mythology. If a mod feels otherwise, then feel free to shift the thread to a befitting location.
And for anyone curious how I came across this, there is a news website I visit that linked to this page. I am not associated with them, and wouldn't believe the "prophecy" and polytheistic basis of these predictions anyway. This was linked purely for entertainment and light-hearted discussion.
