Greetings fellow Sura players! Since there is no guide to PVP suras might as well make one. The information that I present in this thread is a compilation of what I have learned playing Sura for over a year. If anyone wants to contribute to the topic they can PM me and I will add their info!

So lets begin:

What is a Sura?

What is a Sura? Well, Suras are the 3rd class branch of monk/champion and like its predecessors they are mobile, tanky and deal huge bursts of damage, most of the high burst skills are very HP/SP related. They have great crowd control with Cursed Circle, allowing them to "trap" at most 15 people on their tracks unable to cast any spells. They are able to unfreeze themselves (the only class that's able to do so apart from RK) and give themselves the basic buffs (Blessing, Increase Agility)

Why Sura?

If you are the type of person who likes dealing huge single target bursts this class is for you! They deal great damage with Gates of Hell even though you are not that well geared, (albeit a few sacrifices must be made).

Great! I will go get my sura and deal wreck people!

Well sadly that's not how it works, Sura players need to understand that they hold big responsibility especially when it comes to team play. It's not that simple, in fact it bugs me when people say sura is an easy class to play, sure you might argue that throwing a bunch of God Items will allow you to one shot most undergeared players. But when you engage in serious PVP/WoE, there are other factors to deal with in order to use the class effectively!

What are Orbs?

Well Orbs fuel the Monk/Champ/Sura class skills, most of the skills depend on using up a number of orbs to function. A good example will be Guillotine Fist, high damage burst that uses up all your SP/Orbs.

What are the basic principles of using a Sura in WoE?

Assuming that you are level 150 and job 50, you should have Rising Dragon 10 (allows you to use 15 orbs in total and giving your HP and SP a boost albeit taking damage over time) depending on what damage route you choose whether it be Tiger Canon or Gates of Hell you MUST have MAX Curse Circle, <- Emphasis on this skill, this is what make or break a sura, understand that it is more important to create opportunities for your guild members to dish out their damage (which is most likely AOE damage) before your single target skills.

What are your limitations?

There are but a few limitations on a sura, you must always keep in mind the number of Orbs you have, whether you are or not on "Fury" state (yeah that means the electric animation around your Sura) and your HP and SP. Negative status such as Freeze and Stone can be wormed out of if you have orbs. <-- This is a weakness too, if you have no orbs you are a sitting duck remember that and DON'T LET IT HAPPEN.

Battle Startegies

Alright imagine an opportunity to go aggressive presents itself in front of you, what do you do?! There are different ways to deal with different classes in WoE. So let us tackle each class:

Rune Knights:

Here we have a very tanky class, they are the staple damage dealers of WoE with Dragon Breath, very high HP pool and that annoying Millennium Shield to block your single target bursts! What do you do?!

If (they have millennium shield up, its those things that look like orbs floating around them)

Curse Circle Them and tell a Shadow Chaser guildmate to take his dragon ASAP, (take away his damage) hold them as long as CC will allow (8 seconds) so that your guildmates can burn through his Shield charges, if he is still alive use Guillotine Fist, Remember the longer they are out of battle the less damage your guild will be taking.

If(they run up to you with "Crushing Strike" active)

Use the skill "Root" make sure you have level 5 so you can use Guillotine Fist once the opportunity presents itself. This locks you and the RK together disabling him from using any skill, great time for your chasers to take his weapon/shield and dragon with a possible Full Divest.

Royal Guard

Naturally tanky because the class was made to tank/support with various shield skills that block even Guillotine Fist,

Only one way to deal with them:

Curse Circle the RG along with his buddies, ask your buddies to remove his shield or dispell him/her. This takes away his annoying "Guard" skill then finish him off with an array of Gates of Hell or a combo Tiger Canon. (This may need practice; combo needs timing but the rewards are double the damage the skill will usually do.)

Shadow Chaser

Very iffy fighting these guys as mostly they have instant cast masqs, if you fail to catch them in one try; chances are you're going to get masq'd.

Dealing with chasers

Time your CC, wait for them to f kick someone then go for the CC, they are extremely mobile and generally difficult to catch but if you do and he gets debuffed (masqs and lex) he's easily dealt with

Sorcerers

The tankiest mage class, EC coat can be dealt with if you have proper TC gears.

Best way to deal with them

Ignore them on a 1 v 1 situation a decent sorc will be extremely hard to kill if he stands on mist and puts up a safety wall. Like I said their tanky with CK - Shield - WoE Set - EC. If he's not in mist go and TC him then GOH. (Fist is only recommended if you think you can actually kill with it)

that will only happen (I assume you have Curse Circle 5) if you wait 7 seconds while the enemy is CCed before you cast GoH.

No the CC would get cancelled after you have finish casting the skill....So in general it will get cancelled after you landed your GOH.

me and a few friends have won a couple of toronto tourneys, nothing big though since the skill level for RO2 in the larger scale is so huge. On the + side I got an autograph from EternalEnvy!
