I've been maxed WL for about a month now. For other classes, getting to 150 means you can start mvping, and improving on gears. But I'm finding it very difficult even as max WL to do anything productive in that respect. I cant MVP effectively (im darn poor just like my beggar sprite), and I cant do anything without a party/sac slave/heal slave.

 

So... for all the WL out there... what do u do when you're maxed to help u get the gears you want... other than making a genetic or ranger? Thx guys

go to et with a geneticist and an ab and learn to tank with white imprison, you will only need carrots and a rudolf for this.

Is there any trick to WI at the right time?

 

It seems even a 0.5 seconds' off means death. It is also hard to spam recovery items and WI at the same time, especially when you need to press shift to WI on yourself.

WI doesn't work to MVP afaik. (Like Basilica of High Priest).

It is irony that most ET party mostly need a sorcerer not a warlock because of their Spammable neutral magic attack and ability to manipulate SP.

 

AB and Sorc -> HP and SP loop. And most important that most MVP has huge MDEF + Holy or Shadow element + Warlock huge delay makes WL ineffective in ET (except doing SG on mob, but that was outclassed by another job AOE (ex :Fire Expansion, Arrow Storm)

Basilica doesn't work on mvp's either.  Just adding that in there - WI is actually vastly superior to Basilica.  Bas's 7 second fixed cast time just ruins the spell, along with the fact that nothing can be in the 5x5 grid centered on the hp at the time of cast or it fails.

 

Bas is a useless skill.

No. But WI works on yourself.

WI tanking on MVPs can be very easily done if you have a life potion on for example because it will auto regen hp for you.

keep wi lvl 1 in a hotkey press it, press shift, then click yourself, and voila you are invincible (unless they do ghost attacks or dispell e.e)

in order to keep spaming it, just leave the shift key pressed, and star spaming wi hotkey and a click on yourself, with this method you can tank almost everything for a loooong time in et (except for Randgris since she can use dispell, you can do it but you would also need safety wall in order to do it)

ya (except for randgris), but he asked for a way of making zeny other than making a gen or a ranger, and to help to gather the rest of his equips.
The only other ways of getting zeny as an non geared wl are: playing the marked and doing daily quests ._.

The depressing part is that it seems warlock needs a couple MVP cards to be really good at killing. So a few billions' investment seems far from being enough...

I think generally a WL is more of a WoE / PVP character rather than a PVM / MVP character right now. So hopefully WoE / PVP is your thing.

 

WI tanks are definitely really cool though.

I kind of get irritated when people always say... WL is 30% or 50% skill ..

 

I really dont see where the 50% skill applies anymore.. the days where you really need skill are over. Noone ever vertical firewalls. few barely even safety wall. It all just comes down to whether u can OHKO with your gears, or whether you can cast before they hit u. How many people solo with a WL? Because if they do theyve wasted their time because its much much faster just doing a TI. And there really isn't much "learning" for clicking a skill and spamming to yourself, its friggin common sense.

 

WL is 90% Gears. The rest is common sense clicking.

 

I do want to know though.. what are the places you can effectively farm with WL alone... i was thinking of abbey but it seems the expenses outweigh the rewards

 the recharge time to get each cast off is just ludacrous. im not sure what the hell they were thinking with this spell, but its just pathetic that to do competitive single target damage with other classes requires you to precast a ton of useless bull-_-. with a stringer though and really good micromanagement, you can effectively pull it off but its really not for everyone. why would they make a 2nd job skill (acid bomb) far superior to a third class power house attack? nothing this company does makes sense

 

 

 

as for places to grind, you can grind scarabs with comet or crimson rock/crimson mora set.  as for nameless island the zombies are weak to fire but banshees are strong to all magic and will be more difficult

 

warlocks are just a disaster. i feel bad for all new players that try to make one and then learn the hard truth about them after putting in all that time and effort. its best just to keep them as a 99 hwiz and farm eden badges XD

Why can't warlocks  MvP?

1-Use the armor set that up's elemental damage +60% + the best matk gear you have balanced against the best mdef piercing gear you can use.

@OP: of course u can make money by killing mvps with warlock, but classes are not made to be equal and some are just much much much more efficient at doing certain things. Alternatively, swallow any pride you may have and be someone's bitch in a ET party.(i mean, u have to admit that warlocks dont have good single target dps, only aoe dps)

One last thing, pray that a mvp card drops.

I've Duo'd ET with an AB up until FBH on warlock, if I can get someone else to kill fbh for me I can probably give ifrit a go on the Warlock.

I've tested both warlocks with and without a party, and my conclusions are: TV is definitely better for ET.
Also, as i've read some of your post, i wont argue with you, dont like it dont play it.

The higher i've ever got in ET just by myself was Baphomet/Dark Lord

brag about skills, a 2-4 buttons class like gen will always get the last laugh when it comes to mvp.
