Which build is generally performs better in PVE?

And would a hybrid build actually work well enough to hitlock MVPs and still do decent AS damage?

Thi sis my first char in renewal. I started playing again like 17 days ago and i was lvl 99 sniper so itransed and now im 147. I dont know much but my experience is that AS is the way to go.

My build is not full AS but oriented to ASPD and i can actually pvm pretty good just with a rideword hat wwset and +5kb elven. and sound amp.

My stats are:

120agi

100 dex

80 luk

60vit

30 int

Now bumping my luk. The first thing i did was bump my int and my vit. Int its just a waste i wouldnt recommend.

a hybrid may work well.

i mean, with takoyaki (which you can stock a life long suplies in a few days.Just remember event leaves on the next maintenance), tarnished lamp headgear and +20 luk food(costs like 18k, pretty much anyone can afford this) you have 39 luk in your pocket in the cost of pretty much nothing.Have some agi enchants on your white wing set, and you will have enough aspd and release rate for your warg in my opinion.

Also, the mild wind headgears..Those are of great use for aspd rangers..With those cute stuff, you can change the element of your status atk too(regular endows convert only the weapon atk) and double the effectiveness of your elemental attacks. For you to have a better idea, these are the numbers for my pure AS ranger at level 150/50

on pom spider;

neutral property-53k

fire converter-70k

mild wind from leo crown-103k

So, yeah.i think a hybrid build might work well dependant on what you expect.

Pure AS is a "one trick pony" and I wouldn't go for it unless I have a lot of specialty equipment. You don't even need too much base AGI to get 193 aspd and hybrid hit locking rangers are honestly really fun to play. For TIs I hate it when I see rangers single targeting when there's a mob. Even if they can't one shot, they should still AS. Outside of TIs and mindless ASing, a hybrid/warg ranger would be able to do more imo.

autowarg build can still use AS too..... just go with autowarg, if you cant one shot the enemy(most likely mvp) then just hit him till death.

Except that your AS cast time will be terrible. AS Ranger builds also usually go for 120 Dex to boost their damage while ASPD Rangers put those points into AGI. AS Ranger builds can get to near-instant cast times pretty easily while ASPD Rangers can get to 193 ASPD (and their build is a failure if they can't reach it).

So it's one or the other. You can get all the skills you need for both builds (if you keep in mind Fear Breeze is useless) but if you want to switch between the two you'll need to do stat resets and have two sets of gear. The easiest way to 150 is also to just go AS Ranger and do the TIs. ASPD Ranger is fairly useless until you're finished doing TIs at 150 with 190 ASPD and decent autowarg/crit.

Sound Amplifier lets non pure AS rangers cast very fast.

Flee is actually really helpful on a ranger wearing WW set in a turn in situation. You're wearing no reducs with the whole set on so all that can help you is flee. In a TI situation, someone else is the dedicated tank (at least i hope so) and rangers are usually only attacked by one or two monsters at a time at most. So the flee really helps out there. AGI also has other uses like bleed immunity.

Because of the FLEE thing, my 1st medium/high AGI (more ASPD oriented) ranger actually felt much less squishy than my 2nd low AGI high VIT (more AS oriented) ranger in a TI situation.

ASPD rangers also need VIT though so don't skip out on that. Every class needs VIT actually.

INT is more of the difference between the ASPD and AS builds, but even ASPD builds can afford to have 30-40 INT.

For TI honestly there's no need to switch WW sets unless there's a Thor TI. Every ranger should get a pasana carded WW suit lol. Everything else is extra for people who have the zeny to splurge on their ranger gear

You dont need 120 agi to achieve 193 aspd. I think its viable! You're going to need foods and buffs to compensate for dex loss but really if you have a thana or SS card that doesnt matter

You can always go hybrid, my stat is 100 agi 100 int 120 dex, and 56 vit. I can get enough aspd to hitlock stuff, and deal a lot of damage with AS, with promising casting time. Although, less agi means more food/aspd gear you have to accommodate yourself with. So in the end, i find myself making another ranger specialize to do certain thing, like pure ASPD build. Since ranger is extremely easy to level with, its good to have another ranger that does other thing. And AS damange really depends on how much you are invested in gear set up, and buffs. Dex only factors in if you have larger amount of buffs.

i just tried an autowarg with a dagger on it. +11 scalpel[3x hunterfly]. my aspd is 193. it's the really deal. you don't need any heal potions to level up. it will never die.
