New to Ragnarok, some questions :P

1) Homonculus -> Homonculus S: What exactly happens? You Homunculus "evolves" (like a pokémon) to Homunculus S, or are these brand new Homunculus? If so, can you use both at the same time?

2) Active Skills of Homonculus (like Pain Killer for instance): Can you (as the player) cast them (so you can chose the best moment to cast them) or are they casted by AI only?

1) its evolve version so yes homun > get it to loyal intimacy > evolve with sage stone > adult homun > get it to lvl 99 with loyal > homun S (after you become 3rd class)

2) you can use their skills just put it in your hot key.

1) Why is it that people say to evolve a peculiar type of Homunculus to S? Like "Go Filir -> Sera"? Is it to combine both Homunculus Skills and stats? Do this mean that the Homun S keeps the previous skills it had before as a regular Homun?

2) Awesome! Can you also decide when can they auto-attack a target or not? It there an "aggressive/passive/follow" button like Pets in World of Warcraft?

Another question: Am I stuck with a homun after I choose it? Can I choose a leveling one before transcending and after that choosing my "definitive" one?

1) people say's filir > sera because filir has high aspd and their attack skill is low SP usage. homun S does keep all skills that the homun had.

2) they do got passive and aggressive mode but the default AI RO has is extremely bad. I suggest you to get Azzy's AI.

this will help you with most question's you got.

People say don't do filir->sera because they both have low vit gains and probably won't get a lot of hp by 150.

1. Yes, homun keeps all stats and skills. Stats only matter if you combine base type and S homun that both have bad growth in a certain stat; homun stats are capped at 150, and will generally hit that cap well before 150.

Most people argue that Amistr is the best endgame homun base type, because it is the only one that has skills that help the owner (instead of just helping homun kill - homun killing is only good for leveling the homun; once that's done, those leveling skills are not very useful) - and he's got two of them.

You can always delete your homunculus, but after deleting it, you start from scratch - you use another embryo to get another level 1 unevolved homun with awkward loyalty, and go through the whole process over again. Most people try to avoid doing this if possible. The loyaling just takes too long to remake homuns.

I'm leveling a Merchant (plan to be Biochem) and it's my first char ever, I have no funds and I'm level 27 atm. What do you recomment me to level? Agi/Str or Vit/Str? (i basically just leveled STR to 4x and DEX to 2x so I can go both routes). Remember, I don't have gear/money.

Also, Is it worth it to even try Homun before transcending?

If you got no funds I say maybe Agi is the way for you.

you will for sure want your homun. Even if you trans and become lvl 1 again they will still be the same lvl as they were before you trans.

I struggled with my two merchies who were Eden Geared, little money for pots (of course no Witch/Alarm or anyhting), and the chemist was really hard. In this context, I found my homun to be a help for him. They would hit the monster together, so it would die sooner, and they'd share the exp; the homun would tank for my chemist; basically they went everywhere together except for TIs. I loved this experience because my chemist and his homun really seemed like friends, they were company for each other =)

Oh, good to know that the homunculus keeps its level even after you reborn, so yeah, it'll be really helpfull the second time leveling...

I gonna go the AGI way then, thank you very much!

My recommendation is get a filir and use it to help you get to Gene then dump it for Amistir or vanil if you want potting. Filir are very fast at leveling and is a great help early on.
