My homun AI is always set to no kill steal. But I realise with this if there are a ton of people around, my homun basically does nothing but move around and not hitting anything. (Moves to a mob that is free, but in the time it takes to move the mob may have hit someone else or been hit by another homun first) I notice most homuns in orc 2 are set to kill steal though. However I thought kill stealing was against the rules?
Most AIs are set to no KS I think, but their AoEs make it kind of difficult to follow, especially when the area (*cough*OD*cough*) is filled to max capacity. xD
I'm new to the world of leveling at OD2 and basically, in the week or two I've been there, I've had the same talk with several people:
"Could you please set your homun to cast his AoE at your feet? Because it's casting it on me, and it's killing my monsters".
"What?" / "I don't understand" / "I don't know about that"
"You go to the AI, first tab... *explains*"
My homun doesn't even have its AoE yet, and I wasn't even sure of how to set the homun to cast AoE at their feet... but with whatever little knowledge I have, I have to go around educating people on how to set their homunculus. Either they are lying to me in my face, or they really have no clue about this!
Now, I know many people don't read the forums, but somehow they all seem to know about AzzyAi and use it. And I also know that there's a Sera Poison Mist question in the FAQ at drazzy.com. But I guess people don't read that and even if they did they don't understand / don't get why this is so important. It's not only a matter of what's effective and what's not, it's a question of being polite. If a monster is attacking me, and your homun casts AoE on me and kills it, isn't that KS?
So maybe this is another rant post, but maybe we should do a guide on AI settings and polite behaviour while leveling your homunculus... or better, add it to the existing guides on homunculus. We need a comprehensive Homun Guide pinned right at the bottom of the page! I know someone started one, maybe we should work on that one and then pin it.
