Is a Grand Cross Build still viable? I just recently rebirth my Crusader into a High Novice. As early as now I'd like to start allocating my stats for a build that will still be useful when I eventually change into a Royal Guard. I won't be able to afford a Stat Reset so the build I go with on the get-go will be my end build too. I need a little help with that. :)

If the GC Build is no good anymore I'm open to suggestions of other AOE Builds. Also, I'd appreciate tips on what stat to pump first and then next. (i.e. Pump VIT to XX then switch to pumping STR next etc.)

I think gc build crus/pala isn't that effective anymore. Lvling pala/crus by investing agi then spear quicken till 99 den use overband in terms of aoe leveling. If you want to invest ur stat in vit/int better be a suppport/tank in party like sac ur pt member or do the pulling job

Grand Cross is still good and does a lot of aoe damage if the monster is weak to holy. At least the grand cross build is closer to the overbrand build than the agi build. It's more supply intensive thought and you'd definitely need some cheap healing method like witch hat + alarm mask.

Edit: phone typo

Well..it's just fine to me from an agi build paladin(base agi 90 only) to overbrand/vanishing point rg since the skills from rg(spear quicken) boost the dmg of ob. I start invest in vit slowly once I deal decent dmg and Hit agi 90. Gc build is ok if you have pots to spam and its quite fast to lvl with if u have nice eqps and funds.

The problem with the AGI build is that high AGI is pretty useless in TI or when soloing with Overbrand against mobs. The high AGI is fine as endgame, but the stat progression is not ideal. A good overbrand build would ideally have 1 AGI, unless you are aiming for bleed immunity with it.

However, Grand Cross does also utilize INT. Overbrand / RG builds don't tend to get high INT except for better SP pool / regen. GC actually works fine with high STR and 1 INT though, or you can opt for low - medium INT (30-60).

Stat resetting at higher levels is also definitely an option.

Thank you again for all who responded. I've finally decided on going with the Agi Build route since a)I don't have enough capital to maintain a Vit Build and b)It makes taking down monsters faster.

Once you go into the mid TI you'll find that agi is useless so you'll have to reset to a vit build anyways. Also taking monsters down is faster via mobbing in the mid TI.

AOE / Tank builds actually take down monsters faster because you are grouping them up and using an AOE skill on all of them at once. Some people just don't realize this also applies to < 99 / third class characters as well (magnum break, grand cross, etc.).
