Greetings everyone, i'm a player with a real-life job and i cannot sell my items to other players without having to leave my PC on and leave my character there vending, which obviously i can't do because i don't want to leave a machine ON without anybody monitoring it. At this rate, my items will be stocked in my inventory or storage and i will not be able to do "in-game business" at all, so that would make me one of the poor or those "undressed" players in the server. So I would like to make a suggestion that GM's make an item auction house in which players can sell their items even when logged out. Item auction house Group items according to item type. For example

Spoiler

The Item auction house will have a taxation rate every time he places an item, like for example 5%, so if one places an item in the auction house which costs 100m, He/She will automatically be charged 5m and if someone buys it, 100m will be given back to the player giving him a profit of 95m

There will be a limited time for each items placed on the auction house like 24-42 hours, if the item doesn't get bought within the time limit, it will be returned back in the Inventory or somewhere where it can be retrieved by the owner but the tax will not be refunded so that the old vending system will not be ruined and will still be better for those who are not leaving the house. Also a player will have a limit on the numbers of items he can put in the auction house, maybe the number of items he can put can be increased if he has a premium account or so. So that's all i hope you can read this suggestion GM's or any ROSE community staff. I'm very open to comments  :heh:

I will support this idea, aslong as you stated that it won't ruine the traditional shop system.

They ofcourse will need to be a number of limitations regarding posting your items on it.

for exmaple:

  • A max of 3-5 items on the Auction house, with premium member being able to post a maximum of 10.
  • Taxation rate is probely a must and as you stated for example 5% seems a reasonable about (This might even help lower some inflation)
  • A limited time for the items to be seen on the Auction house is also one of the most basic's to have, if not items could be on there forever.
  • With limited time for items, comes item returning. I don't see how they would solve something like this, unless they would implement some special return feature from the Auction house master himself (Returned Items "Or something" ) Or perhaps even a mailing system, where the items can return to, speaking about a mail system. It might also be a good way to keep in touch with players that play very often so you sending them a mail.

I think it would be a possible boost to the community being able to do more, a AH is a great way to do so.

If enough players within the R.O.S.E community show there intrest in this it might lift the floor.

It might even bring back older players that thought and I quote "It needs a updated vendoring system" to the community.

Keeping your account online to sell stuff is just paying the electric bill more then the rose community itself  :heh:

I made this suggestion awhile back, or one similar anyway. I support the idea of an AH, as I don't have the time to vend much myself. Personal shops could still be feasible as well. I know there was one game I played which had both. It would make it easier for the buyer to comparison shop and thus benefit them. It would make it easier for the seller to know what price to put on his items as well. I wholeheartedly support the idea of an Auction House.

woops, wrong one.

But yeah, auction house would be great. Myself, most of the time I'm at my college dorm, and the internet connection there isn't very great. So I can't open up a lot of clients before I get lag/dcing issues. As such, most of the time I can't sell any items. Would love to see this.

This has already be heavily discussed and looked into in the background. Don't hold your breath, but don't discredit it either :)

I wouldn't enjoy seing fewer shops, I like browsing around. And altho I understand the arguement that's it's not completely fair to everyone I'd simply wouldn't want a AH to take over. Seen it in other games and it wasn't fun at all.

To say it in short I disagree with the above.

Well perhaps the AH should only work for Itemmall items? or thinks like cosumeables and what not.
