 So,

Is running two copies of the game illegal? I recently got a laptop and I would like to try to party with myself lol! (as loser-ish as that sounds.)

 

I would automaticlly assume that it _is_ indeed legal, seeing as how the client doesent put up a fight when trying to do so. But I remember way back in the hay-day you actually had to modify the .exe in order to do so, which I could see a GM thinking that is an exploit of some sort (ahhh the good ol'7 day trial days ), so before I pull the trigger... is this okay for me to do?

Yes, It's perfectly legal to do however sharing accounts is not encouraged. You can also open two RO's from the same computer and it should run smooth xD. RO doesn't take much computing power ~
