I know I'm uploading this in the eeeeaaaarly morning but it's 6.30pm here.

 

I kinda sorta forgot about the contest so this is kinda rush.

It so happens that I'm using the last egg in the fridge(lol) and it's SMALL too. (it's a chicken egg, not a quail egg)

Also, crappy phone camera quality is crappy.

 

 

Somehow the colours fade a little after awhile. =.=

 

 

And here's how it looks like around it:

 

I didn't want to line the details because I don't have a pen for such small details.

But here's how it looks after lining only around the character.

ps: It's my hunter and poporing pet. ^^

Okay! Just so you know they're half painted since the picture is supposed to be taken from a frontal angle only to make a flowing scene, so don't expect a fully painted egg xD

Thanks for the kind words guys! If the contest's still open, I'd like to add an addendum to my entry. Verit now has his spiky collar, and I went ahead and made a Kobold Archer. Making these eggy mobs is so much fun! I hope you run this contest again in the future <3  These days, all I ever do is digital drawings, but it's been great getting my hands all covered in paint and glue again and making a big arty mess =D

 

 

 

 

 

I have made a little clay tail for him, but the stuff takes four days to dry, so no tail for now.

This contest has brought out some inventive creativity <3 If you do one next easter, I'd like to see a pattern category too, for eggs that aren't a mob/character exactly, but have, let's say a polka-dot style pattern of porings and poporings on them, or one for illustrations on eggs, like Shirotea's and KamiKali's =3

andddd i did draw a kobold archer too! but my lil cousin was around playing with the eggs and broke it. i didnt redraw one coz i was too lazy to blow out the egg white/yolk

This is so freakin' good. You have an amazing eye for perspective to avoid having any distortion around the egg's rounded edges.

 

Is it a bit confusing to look at from other angles like sidewalk art can be?

Well, maybe not to that degree of distortion, though. These sidewalk arts are massive. This is just an egg, after all.

Thankss I basically drew from a completely frontal perspective to avoid distortion, if you look at tutorials on youtube it's really not that hard. There are a lot of artists in art history that used to put things like that in their pictures for fun actually!

but they're eggs so they're really small and it a LOT easier to do. You basically draw the picture on paper and then imitate exactly what the paper is like on the egg I can take pics of my sketches if you want as well to see the steps!
