What do the names in front of certain items mean exactly?  I remember reading somewhere that Ephemeral god items with a player's name will eventually return back to the owner after a certain period, but this isn't the case for items such as Rudolf Santa Hat, right?

some items are from quests. These usually have the name of the person who finished the quest and received the item as quest reward.

The incentive for some events/purchases/quests is you get your name on the item for bragging rights/novelty.

Where it means something is with god items. Named god items can be recalled by their owner, (you need to involve the GMs to buy our sell one for good - they'll name change it)

In all other cases, the name is just vanity
