So recently some people are having like, boyfriend/girlfriends in game. And some couples decided to get married in game. :3 Like FallenWarrior and his bride I guess? I have a few stuffs to say on how much I would want it and on how much it would be fun for other players. Also in RO1 there is a marriage system. It would pretty much benefit players, and would have a hell lot of fun with it.  :D Also the churches on Prontera or on Alberta are like um, decorations, so I thought why not make it more useful and maybe make Ro2 a hell lot better.  :D Okay so here are my suggestions.

1.) Probably, some people are wondering, how about if the guys character is a girl one, is it possible for them to get married? For me yes, cause love knows no boundaries. :3

My point of view speaks this. For male to girl characters there will be a fine of a specific amount of zenny, depends on their choice of something hahaha. I still am a bit confused on how should it be like but I just really honestly want this. :3 Same also with girl to girl marriage.

2.) If the devs would really consider this, might be after marriage there are certain skills like they could teleport his/her partner to where they are. And I thought of different skills for each class. I've had this in my mind for a really long time though I didn't want anyone to know since they might think that I am weird or something hahaha. Just like in Ro1 xD

3.) Since Wedding Dress and Tux are back. Oh, not all of the people have them. Sad life. T-T (Including me T-T) When marriage system is out, why not uhhh. Like there is this renting thingy or whatever. xD I don't know how to explain it! I'm sorry T-T But yeah, like you could rent a wedding dress or tux. Or maybe like you don't need them for the wedding. :) something like that. ;_;

I'll edit this as soon as I get more ideas. Feel free to tell me what to add. And probably tell me if you would want this or not.  :D I won't bite don't worry. xD =) Anyways thanks.  :D

:p_smile:  :p_smile:  :p_smile:

I definitely agree RO2 should support same-sex marriage. Though I totally disagree that it should be more expensive. But it really comes down to Gravity and I'm not totally sure what Korean same-sex laws are like. If this was based in the US, no way in hell would this ever happen...unless it was in Maine.

spouse recall sounds hilarious. I can't remember if there was an option to say no in RO1 if your spouse summoned you.
shared storage, too.
mostly, if the marriage system ever gets implemented (lelll RO2 has more problems to focus on), I'm just waiting for Tux/Wedding Dress to get rereleased.

Well, we could change that. Hahaha. Well, there is no law in games? Is there? Hahaha. Thanks for agreeing. :) =) I really hope there would be marriage system. -_- :3

i think i'm mentally restricted but i really don't understand the need of a marriage system....

but if you implement one it need to be balanced whit rights and duties for example:

you can summon your partner, share storage, have a bigger house but level up together, share exp gained, and not be able to level up more than 2 levels alone AND no divorce i don't want see arguing for who take what!!!

I'm pretty sure ZeroTigeress isn't surprised at this point with me showing up and being disappointed with hearing "lets make it like RO1." But yes, copying RO1 again in this would not work very well...

While a marriage system itself wouldn't be a bad thing (it's honestly really popular in games atm), I'm not sure how many of the boys in the Gravity Dev team honestly have the right... appreciation for it. I do know as well that they will not disregard their local laws on same-gender coupling (doing so could get them fined), though I admit that I don't honestly know what Korea's standpoint in that currently is. If their laws say no, then it's a no. If their laws accept the idea, then making it any different from the regular option would be seen as an insult (aka, it probably shouldn't be more expensive either).

But beyond that dispute, the features given? There is far more chances of a 'warp to spouse' than a 'warp spouse to' skill, and even that would probably not fit in very well here. Shared storage I'm more than a little certain will never happen (notice your vast account storage?) Having things unique per class is probably bound to lead to a balance failure as well. The most popular (and possibly most likely with Gravity) system would be one which boosts the stats of the pair when they are fighting in exp range of each other. This could be as simple as higher drop rate and MP gain (maybe even movement speed), but could be seen to... uh... stack with our bonus stats from... seeds and such.. (which is probably what makes me the most nervous regarding a couples reward in this game).

You also do know that we already have Tux and Wedding Dresses too, right? They already threw those around a long time ago.

Shin, your ideas... really probably no. Not only is (as I said earlier in this post) summoning partner a very unlikely feature even if Weddings are thrown in (same with shared storage), but they already dropped the personal housing system and made it simple with just guild housing (so weddings won't affect this either). While an automatic share exp feature might happen, I wouldn't recommend it (I've seen this formula break games..), while your last two ideas (level advancement restrictions and divorce unavailability) would lead to considerable grief and issues and rage and are similarly things which should really not occur.

Although transportation isn't possible, I'd imagine a "Heal your spouse by sacrificing your own HP(Or SP using the other)" skill as a result of being married to them is possible. That would be neat in itself. This is one feature I'm sure is possible to bring over from RO1's marriage system.

  • Loving Touch
    • Consume 10% of one`s HP to restore 10% of your partner`s HP.
  • Undying Love
    • Consume 10% of one`s SP to restore 10% of your partner`s SP.

Pretty sure Gravity Korea will not allow same sex marriage to occur though. They've been adamant about it since the implementation of the marriage system in RO1. Surely they won't allow it for RO2 if it still isn't allowed for RO1 even to this day.

While healing effects might work, they most likely won't work like that. First off, SP stands to a whole new merit here, I can see them avoiding a SP heal skill. As for HP, since RO2 ACTUALLY has team role dynamics (unlike RO1), this method would probably be broken in Raids involving a good tank, and at least seriously ruin raid dynamics (we have enough trying to do this to fix). This might make forming a HP sacrifice option here just as displeasing.

However, if this was a notable goal, I could see them doing something to improve HP/SP regeneration using such. Have Potion/Food restore more while with your spouse. Have it so that you have some light regeneration while fighting with your loved one. Exactly how much either would be, however, would still be up to question.

This also extends to the fact that they really left no good method for storing custom skills for such a feature. As such, the best chance is that all such features would apply as passive buffs when with your spouse, so that there is no concern for a usable skill.

I skimmed through but did I miss it? Did no one mention Jawaii? Isn't that what that map is all about? Its a long ways away right now though, probably end of the year or so.

We have still no verification if Jawaii will lead to a wedding system. The island was after all just a play on Hawaii originally anyway, and they could very well just be pulling from the hype plus the fact it's an island name location to yield a place for some more beach-side grinding.

I'd say it could work if you tweaked the concept of the skill. Make it so the skill forces the person casting the skill to run and stand directly next to their spouse before they're able to use the skill. There could also be cooldowns placed on the skill. This can put one of the two in danger after using the skill to help restore the HP or SP of the other player if we're considering the tank and spouse healing them scenario.

There are certain things from RO1 I'd like in RO2, yes, but not ALL of them are great. (Success rates for crafting comes to mind.)

Trying to get a situation where it would work... still leads to needing to have a place where the skill can be dragged to the hotkey bar too as the OTHER problem.

I would almost give you that, if it weren't for the people complaining about our current crafting rates.

You sure it's not the refinement, honing, and other non-crafting stuff they're complaining about?

The Jawaii's files are already in our clients, we just can't access it. Actually, there is an NPC at Morroc that already mentions about Jawaii in the chat log. He/she is near the 3h gate, you can check it out!

Oops, yes I was meaning Refining... I'm not thrilled of RO1 refining either... it mixed me up.

Then again, as an RO1 alchemist... I actually had no issues with crafting... so... not sure I agree even with that...

PS: This is why VEP chat is scary.

Well aren't you a lucky duck with RO1 success rates.

It was more on maximized use of the formula, and working with a bunch of friends. Technically, if someone asked "we should use that same system on RO2!" ... I would still say that it doesn't belong here, even though I gained great use out of it back then.

Crafting fail is implemented in RO2 too but you only fail to acquire the exp .... unless it was a bug i didn't check recently

There is no way to fail crafting here. You get the exp every time.

Divorcing is a must have, if one person leaves for good, the other one must get the chance do get divorce or if the both don't want to be together anymore and want marry someone else. Btw. a Khara tag for divorced ppl would be fine too.

And with the law of some countries, this is a fantasy game and why shouldn't be two toons the same sex get married. It is not you who get married just some drawn toonies.

On the other hands, who is telling me or is even controlling me, what kind of toon I should play, a male or a female? So marrying is no matter to sex of your characters. If a marrying system get implemented where only a male can marry a female, the Kafra shop will selling a sex change coupon for sure.
