Ok so I see a lot of people complaining about Bots unfortunately trying to enforce a more harsh penalty is not really going to effect bots but have more people who get accidental accused of botting the much due problem is the game is free access and no entry fee to ban a bot they will just make a new account that's the sad truth of it.

Now brainstorm to beat a bot you must understand the mechanics of a bot we all know bots follow a program that follows a route killing target ID mobs this is the simplest form of bots now how would we deal with this with out hurting the people who don't bot...

My only thing I could come up with so far is Mask the ID of monsters or random ID the monster so the bot program gets confused with what it needs to target.

If anyone else has ideas love to hear them lets help the GM's instead of whining at them.

I'm not exactly sure, but I think there are different types of bots. I believe some, as you pointed out, target monsters based on the ID and/or name, but I recall some bots used on a different game I used to play were said to target monsters by the color of certain pixels. All objects on the screen would get ignored except monsters with a certain pixel or a set of pixels. If it's true that some of the bots in this game work like that, then that right there already is a work-around for the bots.

There's already been a lot of good (and horrible) ideas that have been proposed in the past. However, none of them have been implemented. Hell, none of them have really even been commented on in this forum except by the forum volunteers. When posted in this forum, the ideas generally fall on deaf ears (except for random members of the community making comments.) :/

This isn't a good idea.

While bots target monsters by ID, Homunculus and Mercenaries does the same.

That means, if this was actually implemented, homunculus and mercenaries AI would be non-editable, which sucks, because default AI of this game doesn't work at all.

Say, monster A has an instance id of 12345, and is a monster of type 1 (type id), which has the sprite poring_normal. Bot attacks any monster which has the desired monster type id, you see, so that's the one you need to encrypt. Say, we encrypt monster type 1 into F34e58k. If we do that, the client software won't know what kind of monster F34e58k is, so it doesn't know what to draw on the screen, what's the name of the monster, what sound to play when it walks, etc. Of course, the server could just send the client all the information it needs, but again, bots can use that other specific information to decide which monster to attack, like attack any monster which has poring_normal sprite, and don't make me start with decryption.
