hi. im maining a blacksmith atm. but as i go through the whole midgard. i see more alchemist than whitesmith. i will hit high merchant soon and i just want a few notes for those who have played any of this characters. Question is, which is better? 

 

at first i wanted to make a Whitesmith coz i read it upgrades weapon more successfully than any other merchant class. but i also see this safe to + certs? i mean,, can anyone use that? if so, that actually makes Whitesmith useless in a sense...

Smiths are not entirely worthless but Alchemist are just Better in just about every way that matters.

 

Genetics (3rd Trans class) with Acid Bomb and Cart Canon can solo MVP. However the class is expensive and time consuming to play.

The Mastersmith has a skill Weapon upgrade and at job 70 has better rates then the NPC, also as a if you was a blacksmith first then trans, you have to go smith after high merchant you can't switch from smith to chemist

Everyone is allowed to use the safe to 7/10 certs. With that said, though, there are some gears that just aren't worth using those certs for. I wouldn't be using those certs for say, Hypnotist staff, Stone Buckler, or Shadow Walk.

I popped a few BB's with my Genentic last night. I got a Beelzebub. I just drag it away from my kaahi and revit slaves. I flywing back and get kaahi, revit, +20 stat foods and killed it in one kaahi duration with cart cannon solo. No Tank.  Only cost about 600 - 700 kafra light blue pots, cost of +20 stat food, cost of cannon balls, and the cost of one glistening coat. Try doing that with a Mechanic lol. 

 

Genetic is the best PvM/MvP class in the game. If that is the part of the game you like then pick Genetic. 

 

Mechanic seems like a fun class and has its uses but seems inferior to Genetic.

I have both! Yes gen is better in a lot of ways. However im my case i wanted to challenge myself and made a mechanic and its been fun to use. Oh and i use ram build not those silly robot looking.
