This is just a concept of my dream Knight. It will likely never be considered but I think it would be really fun to have a class like this that is both melee and ranged.
Out of the 4 available tanks, only 2 are very viable as DPS classes, Warrior and Beastmaster. Knight and Monk lack the DPS potential of those 2 classes so to fix that I'm going to write up the idea that's been in my head for a while now. Basically, you will be prompted upon picking Knight or Monk whether you want to be DPS or Tank and you skills will change accordingly. For Knight, your swordsman skills will also change and upon becoming a DPS Knight, your stats will reset. So lets get to it. Since Knights are my favorite class, I'll start with them and do Monk another day. The skill tree layout will be the same but the skills themselves will mostly be changed.

Equipment
Weapon: Spear. A sharp spear with a blade on 1 end and a connector on the other end.
Damage: Same as Beastmaster's spear
Range: 2
ASPD: Same as sword
Off-Hand: Tether. A long wire/chain used to attach your spear to your body for easy retrieval at a distance.
Damage/Defense: None
Range: +2, 4, 6, 8 depending on rarity
Stats: STR, AGI, VIT
Armor: No change
Swordsman Skills
Head Crush: No change
Spear Stab: Generates 1 Aura.
Stab the target with a powerful thrust to inflict [170,190,210,230,250]% damage.
Provoke: No change
Magnum Break: No change
Advanced Battle Order: Buff.
Bolsters all your Party and Raid members' morale, increasing their STR and attack range by [2,4,6,8,10]% for 30 min. (Stacks with Battle Order)
Clashing Spiral: Pierce the enemy with your Aura imbued spear 5 times to inflict [163,182,202,221,240]% damage and an additional 70% damage for every additional Aura. This skill consumes up to 3 Auras and resets the Head Crush duration on the selected target.
Mass Provoke: No change
Battle Tactics: No change
Joint Beat: Consumes 1 aura. CD: [50,45,40,35,30] seconds
Strike you enemy's vital points to inflict a random status ailment (Stun, Knockdown, Poison, Bleeding, Dispell, Curse)
Tether training: Buff. Toggle on/off buff.
Advanced training enables you to slay your foes from a distance. Enables use of skills up to 10+ meters. Increase cooldown of skills used beyond 2 meters by [6,5,4,3,2] seconds, increase attack power and HP by [2,4,6,8,10]%, and increase aggro generation by [60,120,180,240,300]%
Knight Skills
Spear Dynamo: This skill requires 1 Aura.
Consume all Aura to temporarily enhance your strength and dexterity, increasing Attack Power and range by [4,8,12,16,20]% and damage received by 10%. Skill effect lasts for 15 seconds per Aura consumed.
Aura Mastery: No change
Sonic Wave: Consumes 1 aura. CD: [60,40,20] seconds. Range: 20 meters.
Slam your weapon into the ground to unleash a shockwave that strikes an opponent at a distance to inflict 500% damage at 10m and 1000% damage at 20m. The farther away the target is, the more damage they take. (Can exceed 20m buffed)
Phantom Thrust: CD: [60.50.40.30.20] seconds. Range: 20 meters.
Strikes a target from far away, stunning them for 3 seconds, and pulls that target towards the user. Inflicts [100,150,200,250,300]% damage. This skill can be used on party members, but when done so it deals no damage and does not stun.
Spear Boomerag: Same as Shield Boomerang.
Aura Reflect: Channel the Aura to your shield to reflect damage taken by [4,8,12,16,20]% for 15 sec.
Spear Boomerang Mastery: Same as Shield Boomerang Mastery.
Brandish Spear: Wide red AOE (The boss AOEs where it hits everywhere except behind them)
Swing your spear infused with aura and inflicts damage equaling [161,191,220,249,279,300]% of your Physical Damage to up to 10 nearby enemies. If Tether Training is in effect, additional damage equaling [105,110,115,120,125,130]% of your Physical Damage is inflicted and obtains additional Threat Value equaling 50% of the inflicted damage.
Reflect Bubble: Envolpe yourself and party members within 20 meters in a giant bubble that reflects physical and magical attacks. Reduce all incoming damage for 10 seconds by [5,10,15,20,25]% for all players in the bubble and reflects that damage back at the enemy. The caster can not move or use other skills while the bubble is active.
Hundred Spear: 3 Aura required
Strikes multiple hits with Aura charged spear and inflicts damage equaling [850,900,950,1000,1050,1100,1150,1200,1250,1300]% of your Physical Damage. Additional [3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30]% damage is inflicted if skill is used on Knocked down or stunned enemy.
Takedown: Obtain 2 Aura. CD: [30,28,26,23,20] seconds
Wrap your tether around the enemie's neck and pull them to the ground and inflicts damage equaling [150,190,230,270,310]% of your Physical Damage, and causes Knock down for 3 sec.
