An actor best known as the First incarnation of Doctor Who, William Hartnell passed away on this day in 1975. Born in modest circumstances and experiencing a transient and often difficult upbringing, Hartnell found his true love in acting. Beginning as a stagehand, he appeared in a large number of plays and later film roles. Perhaps from his experiences as a "small time crook" in his youth he played many thugs and tough guys through his career in the 1940s-60s.

His most famous role was in the strange childrens program being developed by the BBC. In it, he plays a kindly but strange old man who leads an unlikely group of travelers through adventures in space in time. They accomplish this travel using a ship that looks very much like a blue police call box. This show was called: Babylon 5. No, not actually....it was Doctor Who.

Hartnell took the part due to his desire to get away from the typecast parts and to play a character that his grandchildren would enjoy. As the First Doctor, Hartnell would face the iconic monsters The Daleks and Cybermen for the first time. Due to deteriorating health on set, he retired from the show-recommending Patrick Troughton to be his replacement. His departure from the show led the production team to create the first of many regenerations of The Doctor character.

Hartnell's gravitas and personality defined Doctor Who for a generation of young people, who would be inspired to work on future incarnations of the show. His time on the show was fictionalized for the BBC in the special "An Adventure in Space and Time", and many nods to his work can be seen in recent seasons of the show that he helped popularize.

On to the notes!

New World Spotlight! Splendide maps (including those around Mora and Bifrost) as well as the Dicastes and Manuk will be getting the spotlight treatment with increased exp and drops for local monsters.

We have received the reports about increased connections issues on the TI maps during the last week. We are considering alternate leveling places with repeatable TI style exp quests to relive the crowding on these existing TI maps.

Granny boxter will now be taking Evil Snake Lord's hat, White Snake and Snake head hats and giving out the new lucky box.

1.5x EXP event ends

Exp/Jexp of Merman being fixed to 616/692

Spotlight of the new world begins!

Monsters that will being beefed up:

Spoiler

Turn Ins:

  • Low: Gargoyle/Mavka
  • Mid: Dullahan/Wanderer
  • High: Laurell Weinder /Errende Ebecee

Mid TI map changed to Nogg Road

On a side note. Cute easter event/childrens party event idea for everyone.

Have the kids bury Jellybeans and tell them they are candy seeds.
Sprinkle them with 'magic pixie dust' (colored Sugar)
Distract the kids with going out to lunch or send them to bed or something.
While the kids are distracted replace the jellybeans with lollipops stick down into the ground
Tell the kids that the pixie dust made the beans sprout and grow into candy flowers.

Why the dust? So that they don't try to repeat it at home and fail and ruin the magic.

Or you know...something Oda said? Which to me, means that there will still be the TI, but probably also on their respective map(hopefully).

Would you consider dividing turn-ins and spreading population on different servers? Example: 70~85 and 86~100 turn-ins as a starter to lessen the load.

They tried splitting the TIs further, and had like 5 or 6 TI groups. The result: All of them were empty, because people were spread TOO thin. Not enough people for even a single party on one map.

Well that was done pre-merger was it? Doubt it be the case with the current population and the popularity of lowest turn in.

If i remember right , they had lvl gaps for every TI and alternated it..For example

Week 1 75-90 , 100-115 , 125-140

Week 2 90-105 , 115-130 , 140-150

Week 3 - similar to week 1 and so on..

Make 5-6 TI groups with no lvl gaps and i reckon TIs will have some density.

AND provide the teleports to those areas for all players, because it would be wrong of you to force players who don't have a party yet to fight their way through hoards of mobs from/on other maps just to get to the map they need to reach.  Also, you MUST drastically increase the spawn rate to what the current TI spawn rates are to allow others to finish the quests.

You don't need teleport if lowest turn-ins are just split and hosted as each on a different internal server. Gramps will still port you there. Keynote here is to lessen the load since a new server can't be arranged for turn-ins...sadly.

From the look of it, turn in quests will be offered along side the current system on real maps. Then yes, a sort of teleportation should be offered. This However, looks like a lengthy solution to lessen the load if you took in account the viable leveling maps and number of spawns in real fields. Let alone the need to alternate the quests each week. Got to wait and see what is really planned!
