Correct me if I'm wrong, but I did some reading and so far what I understand is that there are 4 types of katars:

- Brave Carnage Katar

- Valorous Carnage Katar

- Glorious Jamadhar

- Glorious BR

My question is, which one is your favourite or which do you think is the best, and why? :)

And also another question, I noticed on the battlegrounds page on the wiki that it says 2000 KVM reward points are needed to get the glorious katars. Is that the same as the KVM badges you can trade in with EMB's at eden?

Thanks! :)

for my the glorious bloody roar is the best. for me its more flexible to use, wether leveling, hazy, woe, kvm.

with the kvm points, yes you can trade in your eden merit badges for kvm medals(2emb = 10kvm). you can also confirm how many points you have with the KVM logistics officer found in the battle ground area, just make sure u have the medals with you when u ask for your points.

The best thing about a KVM katar is if you get it to +9, you will have good damage and almost always 193 aspd. There are better options out there if you can gear correctly to achieve 193 aspd, such as the chakram + sincuff combo.

But if you are just looking for a good katar with high aspd and crit, (not to mention crazy useful when fighting demi-human monsters) KVM is the way to go!

And yes KVM can be earned through redeeming EMB's. You can also exchange 5 OPB for 1 EMB if you'd like to get your KVM katar faster. You can also do KVM through the battlegroud queue. 1 win is 5 KVM and a lose is 1 KVM.

Good luck!

So thats 2,000 OPBs to get a KVM Katar, right?

10 OPB = 2 EMB = 10 KVM

Unless my math is wrong (yup, I'm bad at it)

Thanks for your input guys! I was veeery interested in the 70% damage increase to demi-humans in the first place. Had no idea you could actually achieve 193 aspd with a +9 as well. Sounds wicked!

But wait so KVM badges = KVM points?

And yup Kandine your math is right, 2000 OPB's for 2000KVM.... badges. Which I hope amounts to the same amount of points. I'm just confused with the terminologies used. Badges = Points?

not really the same but serve for same purpose :hmm: .  points are character bound while badges are acct. bound , and u already can redeem kvm weapon if the summation of these two already meet the requirement number.

ps-the npc will deduct your char kvm points before taking the kvm badges in a case whre you used both

Ohhhh I see. I just wanted to make sure the badges could be used the same way because I dont intend to participate in any KVM battlegrounds anytime soon... Cos I totally suck at pvp lolol

Thanks a lot! :)

You do not suck at PvP, its just that the people there have crazy gears :heh:

I only have 300 OPB :sob: 1700 to go :sob:

Using opb will be pretty expensive. I would suggest earning badges by doing turn in quest on multiple characters. Or queuing for KVM when playing.

But if you have the zeny, go for it!

I use the +12 GBR but I'm sure the GJ is better. The -25% defense bonus to demihumans does make a slight difference against RGs (about 5% more damage against their reductions, but GX shouldn't waste supplies doing 1v1 against RGs anyway.) I don't often use crits in WoE, but it's a good bonus to have when fighting bosses. Crits are also great in PvP, where FLEE prevents most GXes from killing everything with rolling cutter.

how would GJ put up with vellum jamadhar provided theyre the same upgrade level pvp wise?

i tried doing KVM and i usually get 2 responses:

1. feeder/fodder

2. alt account (although it is not)

i also tried doing TIs for EMB, and i also get 2 responses:

1. dont need a GX, i need ranger

2. youre not really doing anything *ouch* because we already have a ranger and a good tank

so I just try to solo TI if i can solo it which is almost impossible, so Zenny route is the way for me which will probably take a year (exaggerated) to finish it  :heh:

EDIT: OH I know! EMBs are account transferrable, right? I'll just my Priest to party at TIs  :p_laugh: But I'm bad at supporting....

Think he/she meant: all your characters on the same account can use them (so he/she'll bring the priest to TI to farm badges and change them to kvm badges for the gx).

Correct me if I'm wrong Kandine. :v

Vellum Jamadhar is much weaker. It does not have the slaughter bonus, demihuman bonus, ASPD activation, critical bonus, or much use outside of PVP/WoE. Vellum Jamadhar is a joke!

What do you mean by feeder/fodder or alt account? sorry I haven't tried KVM before so I have no idea what those terms mean in the KVM context haha.

And it's not that hard to get a party in TI as a gx really! I've been levelling my GX by TI-ing since I could even TI. Not sure what 135+ parties are like towards GX's though. But i know your feels :( I'm sure all GX's has had that kind of treatment before. It sucks :(

Now I kinda wish I didnt spend all my EMB's on magic stones. If I saved them since the beginning I would have loads by now! T_T

I think I got the Fodder/Feeder term in MOBA games, meaning one is too squishy or easy to die and does not really contribrute in the team.

In KVM at certain hours, people will just 1-2-hit you as soon as you see your opponent in KVM because they have crazy gears :heh: Even if someone have skill (like me, not bragging), I still die really fast because of huge gear difference (and latency issues maybe).

I still find it fun ctrl-clicking mobs, but im pretty sure it will be more fun if I own a KVM katar for that nice 193 aspd buff  :p_love:

that was on some even claim almost all GX was so arrogant. but i understand they arogant cause it hard to lvl on TI or get TI party. that make them so proud when hit lvl 150 when i was using gx i have to solo all for lvl 135 sometimes i solo too. if i want to a party i have to be party leader to make the party waiting hour for some PRECIOUS or maybe derping AB or RANGER

glorious bloody roar is the best katar u can get for pvp/woe and even for demi-human mvp/pvm for mvp crits not demi then chakram with sin cuffs or if not glorious jam but yes GBR will out dmg any other katar in pvp/woe unless its a thana carded infil with FS7x2 20% ignore armor is way better than 20%crit dmg againts demi in any way u look at it be it crits or skills u will always do more dmg with the 20% armor pen over the 20%crit dmg

For PvM crit Build the GJ is more versatile because it gives 20% more crit dmg to all races Not only demi human. And it has slaughter and the 193ASPD buff. Where GBR only gives more dmg to demi human.

Hi! Resurrecting this thread because I've finally collected 2000 kvms woohoo!

Now I would like to ask for your opinion. GJ vs GBR..

Some background about my char first.

1) I wont woe/pvp, not really interested in it but maybe, just maybe, I wouldn't mind giving woe a shot if I have the time.  - this makes me want a GJ

2) I mainly prefer to use this katar to pvm/mvp (and to be able to solo biolabs TI week one day.. one sweet day..).

3) I am not a pure crit build. I actually prefer to RC mvp's (mainly hazy dragon because thats the only mvp i can kill alone without fighting with campers) because my crit damage on my current weapon isnt nearly as high, and this makes me think a GBR might be better for overall damage. But, again, who doesnt want nice crit damage right?

My question is, would a GJ help to increase my RC damage? What would you recommend for someone with my build?

Hello my fellow Steam player :P

My suggestion for you would be to get the GBR:

1) You might want to woe one day <-- GBR

2) Pvm/mvps (GJ but see number 3). Biolabs <-- GBR

3) Well, your primary method of killing is RC, so GJ ain't gonna help you out much there. GBR increases your damage against demis with RC.

Will a GJ increase your RC damage? Yes against demis by 70% (basic kvm bonus). And that it's a lvl 4 wep.

More importantly, GJ or GBR, get it to +9 for the ASPD bonus first. 193 ASPD increases your damage output way more than you can imagine.
