So I tried playing bard thanks to jump event. I got Strings and Song of Lutie atm, and I got invited to a party that already got a bard.

The other bard strings. I played lutie. I got scold by this sinx. Said that strings nullified because it casted before my lutie.

Is this true? Then what could I do? I'm a pure INT/DEX stringer with a nice chunk of VIT, and they told me not to sing at all :/

EDIT: I perfectly understand that I can do Strings while having a dancer doing GK. But what if both are bards? That sinx just won't listen.

This is very easy to test and notice. Were both lutie and magic strings in effect at the same time in your party.

Yes, you can overlap two songs at once as they do not nullify one another.

But you can't overlap the AoE from the same song, i.e. two Bards both stringing walk into each other. The parts that overlap will cease to provide their usual effect and will (sometimes; is supposed to be every time) change to Unchained Serenade.

so i guess it's still okay to do lutie and strings, and it doesnt matter if it overlaps

IIRC, you can't cast ANY song within the AoE of another song without the panels changing to Unchained Serenade. You have to cast them apart then walk one over the other.

what if i casted apart from the other bard, but by some case, he moved and i accidentally casted my song but only a few part of my song intersects? will the other part of my song's aoe still works?

The tiles that overlapped at the time of casting should look different, likee unchained. The tiles that look normal work normally.

So I tested a Lutie while there's a String going from another party. The overlapped tiles looks Unchained, but I tried to move along and get people inside the Unchained tiles, and they still regen their HP.

Idk if we're on the same party tho.

I've been playing bards since forever and I still can't consistently tell if the songs overlapping don't work on those cells.

Sometimes you get the Serenade effect, sometimes you don't.

Bear in mind that the effect of bard songs will persist for 20s after you turn them off or a character walks out of them.

It gets a *little* bit better with 2 Maestros in the same party, though it's still awkward.

The one that's not stringing can keep DWW, Echo Song or Windmill Rush up or SR if he's the right build.
