So I decided to come back to a game I haven't played since before this "Renewal" shenanigans. I must say I'm not at all happy. The game itself is great, as well as all the new cities and items and events, etc. My problem is the playerbase. Classic averages like 500+ players daily, HALF OF WHICH ARE BOTTING!!!!! The popular maps for exp/drops are flooded with bots. The player market is FLOODED with overpriced items. Am I the only person paying attention to this?! Why is nothing being done about it? It's to the point where I'm now a cynic and every high-level player i come in contact with is a potential suspect. I love this game and couldn't wait to get back into the swing of things, until I realized what i was getting into. Cheaters essentially run the market. In order for me to make a sale on a particular item i've got to undersell by like 15-20% because there are soo many people vending 50+ of the same item i spent days hunting for. It's a shame such a great game is being ruined by deplorable people. It's an even bigger shame that nothing is being done about it.

You should probably try the Renewal server if Classic's playerbase is not your cup of tea. :D

I'll stick to classic. Renewal is just as bad. Worse even if you count how overcrowded some areas get. Renewal market is oversaturated as well.

Botting isnt new. Ragnarok has had bot problems since beta. The sad truth is that anyone can download the bot program and start botting within minutes. A lot of people buy zeny, why else do you get spammed by zeny bots all day? Being spammed by a zeny bot in a 13+ year old game is proof that people are buying zeny, enough people to keep a company running. In my experience, most of the players I see are rich. I play with these rich people every day and never seem to gain any zeny. The last point I want to bring up is kafra points. Kafra points are the "legal" route to buying zeny. The Ragnarok game is based off of a pay to win system. WIth that being said, some people have actually stuck with the game for many years and have acquired wealth through time.

In conclusion, I believe that the majority of players you see in Ragnarok are guilty of doing atleast one of the 3 things mentioned. People will claim to be anti-bot, but I can almost guarantee these people have a bot running in the background. It's fairly obvious there is a huge zeny buying market, this means most of the people you see could possibly be buying zeny. The last thing people can do to obtain wealth is to purchase kafra points (the pay to win legal way). So if you want to be as geared as the average person in guilds, you need to be botting, buying zeny or buying kafra points. I do not suggest botting or buying zeny because it's illegal. I personally bought about $50 worth of kafra points to get myself started. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the truth needs to be spoken.

Everything changes. Nothing lasts forever. You can either leave or just deal with the changes.
