Hello Everyone!
 
Before the DWF patch, and with the last UI, I did some experimenting and learned how to customize the UI ingame. With the DWF patch and new UI skin I decided I'd try again and this time share it with the community. I'm also providing a little tutorial of how to customize your own UI to go along with my UI release, located here:

I'm naming this UI after the main texture used; Fissure UI.
 
I'll be updating the file as needed, and I will be posting the updates here on the forums and on my blog as well.

There are a few very important things to know with using this custom UI...
 
Warning: Always backup your original UI.vdk file. Worst case scenario for not backing it up and needing it with an upcoming patch, will be a reinstallation of your client.

* In the past replacing this file has caused patching issues. This is very important.

 
Disclaimer: Gravity and Warpportal will not provide help/support to modified clients with any client-side problems, so use this skin at your own risk.
 
Permissions: We have obtained permission to customize the UI.vdk for cosmetic purposes.
 
Known Issues: There are currently 4 UI files duplicated in another file they should not be in. So this UI skin will have a few default textures until this is fixed. My UI.vdk file will automatically display the corrected textures when this issue is resolved.

* Below is an image showing which textures I'm referring to.

For WP Users
C: > Program Files > Gravity > Ragnarok Online 2 > Data
 
For Steam Users
C: > Program Files > Steam > steamapps > common > Ragnarok Online 2 > Data

very nice UI i love it very much. i noticed your UI keeps the chat window where i put it (unlike the default UI that keeps moving it whenever i change map ) everything look well put together, only thing I'd like to point out is on the exp bar when the MP is x1k~x2k the bar color is the same as the background template, other than that excellent job! keep it up

Thanks! And same as the background template? Do you mean it's a kind of a white-light gray bar? Or something else? o.o

Previous = Pre-AoV Background? I'd imagine it's possibly in there somewhere but they're a different file type that I don't mess with =x Think they're a .dds format...

yeah, all the other bars are great contrasting colors but the 2nd one (comes after red bar) is a white-light gray color very similar to the background it's on

 

P.S. love the subtle guardian symbol, easier on the eyes then that big yellow flashing bar ^_^

Ah ok, yeah that was intended xD and my favorite MP bar actually haha, I almost made them all like that. That blinking bar drove me crazy, it was the first thing to go @_@

As a separate note, I wanted to spice things up and made an open contest on the <nice boat> website.

3 UIs among those submitted there will win a free phantom stone and, if needed, a direct download link of the VDK from my server. It's not much but hey I'm broke and it's for fun.

o.o I'm not sure if that's allowed or not, I'd want an official 'ok' on it, but uh... I don't know if I personally would or not if it were acceptable either. Custom UIs from scratch take about 2 weeks of hardcore editing (but also depends on how many files you're customizing). Would probably come down to the price, how nitpicky the request is, and the time limit xD

Well I'll talk to my gf. If she doesn't want to do it herself I could offer like 500k or something to make it worthwhile . I'll also ask the gms to see what they say and get them to give you an official answer the deal actually happens . I WANT MY OWN PRETTY UI

I'd like to know too :3 designing a UI is way more fun than grinding/farming for zeny.

Added the new file from today's patch. I don't know if it's necessary for everyone to re-download it, but I was personally crashing when logging into the game without updating it.
