would it be possible to enable a command that would show a monster's location? beats going to websites that are inaccurate, especially for classic. if it feels too private server-y, make it into an item. a book of some sort, an adventurer/hunter's guide. Who drops what would also be good, i think this would encourage map exploration.

These types of commands are absolutely impossible to implement in RO, but...
Here's a recent quote from Oda regarding this very issue!
I have an updated list of monster spawns on classic that I have been distributing to fan DBs or people who are interested in the current spawns. It hasn't been updated for a few months, but if you are looking for what monsters spawn in a certain area it would be pretty simple to look up what monsters spawn and where.
For in-game stuff, the kind of item you describe would have to come in the form of an additional NPC or a "book"-type item, and either way it would require a monumental amount of work. They really don't have time for it. Kinda reminds me of the bookshelf in Monster Hunter~
+1 all the same. It's a good idea.

the purpose of the @command is improvement, a function or feature some modern games have in them. I know it's classic, yes, but with it comes classic problems which that simple @command would solve..
it's not like we get to teleport directly to the map, we still have to look at the map and walk there ourselves. When i joined classic i had no one to ask directions for, because nobody was around. this is a way to give information to new players, which they need.
But as you guys mentioned it is impossible (i'm no programmer or coder so i have no idea how hard it would be, could also be a Gravity limitation thing) so, yeah. let's just lead the newbies who are asking to the forums.

Bumping this because I'm very interested in a "Hunter's Guide" type thing implemented on our servers.
Most people don't know this, but it already (partially) exists in the form of the Prontera Library.
They could really just expand the dialogue trees in the bookcase "NPC"s there.

not sure how accurate this still is but might be the best thing for now.
