Feel free to laugh, but here is my suggestion.

Dwarf Hammer will go above and beyond when it comes to upgrading! Dwarf Hammer will upgrade 1 item a day per account. After an item has been upgraded by Dwarf Hammer it becomes account bound. (Items Account Bound by Dwarf Hammer can be removed by giving Dwarf Hammer 1 Magical Stone after 24 hours have passed since the item was upgraded.

How To Upgrade: 1,000,000z + 10 HD Elunium or 10 HD Oridecon + 1 Safe to 7 Certificate.

Dwarf Hammer will upgrade 1 item that is already upgraded to +10 or higher with a 10% chance of success.

If the item fails it becomes Account Bound and you cannot upgrade for another day. (Upgrade is not decreased and item does not break)

If the item succeeds it becomes Account Bound and you cannot upgrade for another day. (Upgrade is not decreased and item does not break)

Dwarf Hammer will only upgrade an item up to +15.

I thought you were going to suggest needing to beat Sudri in a fight for every upgrade attempt.

Change the material requirements to 100,000,000z + 50 HD Elunium or 50 HD Oridecon + 1 Safe to 10 Certificate and you've got a deal.

Refining without a downgrade chance should require obscene costs, or else it's just another way flood our server.

What would flood the server?

High refine gears that never break, and in this case never downgrade either.

up to +15. Not sure how they would flood since they become account bound once you upgrade. only 1 item can be upgraded per day, so it would take a while at a 10% success rate. You could have a 30 day streak trying to get an item from +12 to +13.

What little of an assurance it is, is an assurance nonetheless.

Oh I might've misread that account bound part. You're saying that it would be permanently bound with no chance of unbinding?

In that case~ I'm still sorta iffy about it. Any way to guarantee upgrades is a bit gamebreaking, although kRO have Safe to 11-19 (inclusive) certs, so what do I know xD

Maybe a system similar to this should be implemented in place of those certs?

If you read the post above 1 Magical Stone after 24 Hours of your upgrade attempt. +15 isn't actually game breaking since there are very few effects that carry on past +10. A +20 White Wing Suit isn't as game breaking as a Thanatos Card, if that's what your thinking. (Or the duplicated Lord Knight Cards, but that's off topic)

It's not just that, but any absolute top-tier gear would never break. Once you've gotten it to the next refine level, you just throw more money at it until it +'s again. And again. If you're willing to spend enough money, you can get anything to +15, which completely negates the risk. MMOs revolve around risk and transience. It's the only reason players stick with their games; because there's still something to be done, and the chance of getting there is slim, but theoretically obtainable.

Not to be a nostalgic nellie, but high refine gears in this game used to represent hours upon hours of work. Now it just represents how massive your wallet is or, rarely, how many golden, rabbit-foot-etched horseshoes you've got shoved up your butt.

Please don't contribute to this failing.

And I did read the magical stone part. When you responded by saying "What would flood the server?" I thought I'd misread something, as that kind of a response suggested a catch-22 in there, somewhere. But it seems there isn't one. It's just money :P

As for refine bonuses beyond +10... [Slaughter] and [Destruction].

That's my point. You can already throw money at gear and eveeeeeeeeentually see it at +15, but your suggestion makes it easier still (losing the downgrade chance), with a bit more money involved in the process.

My suggestion is actually reducing the price. Currently from what my friends have said it takes over $300 of their hard earned money to make one +14 Equipment. The upgrading system in place is the same as going into a casino. My suggestion is to implement a system for upgrading that does save money, but takes more time. (Instead of blowing $300 in one go trying to get to +14 and only getting to +11)

Upgrading used to take actual in game items, which was fun. Now it takes your $$ instead.

The nicest thing they implemented is trading gears for Safe to 7 Certificates.

Hehe I can absolutely agree with that  :ok:

The less real money spent upgrading the better.

Still not a fan of the whole idea though. Maybe lose the "no downgrade no break" part and instead double the success rate.

Then that would just be the same as using Bradium to upgrade. Bradium upgrades weapons past +10 with the chance to actually break. Would you ever use Bradium to upgrade? Be honest with your answer.

Would be nice if Mighty Hammer also Permanently Account Bound your gear on upgrade, when you try to upgrade past +10 since there is 0% chance to break equipment when upgrading with him.

I would not.

That's due to alternatives being available. I'm not going to handicap myself when everyone else is refining without a break chance.

So the problem is a tad deeper than this idea alone. They screwed the pooch when HD ores were implemented xD

Now THIS is an idea I can get behind!
