Hello i am a new player to this game and i decided to go with a alchemist that being said the homunculus are really cool to me and I've looked into them but anything i found was from about 2 years ago. basically i love eleanors concept and her looks but my friend told me she was rather useless for mvp or pvm which is what i want to do. eira also interested me but i'm not a fan of having a support follow me around which is why i probably like eleanor so much. i know sera and dieter are better but i just dislike them. so all that being said and sounding like the noob i am is eleanor decent enough to get or is that a huge waste of time and what about eira? also what base form would be the best for eleanor and eira? thank you in advance if you can answer :)

Sadly Eleanor is mostly useless. =/ I have her and she does nice single-target damage for a homun, but... Genetics already output so much damage by themselves that they don't need their homun doing damage, so the ones with strong support skills are a lot more useful. Her token use was fighting ghost-element MVPs, but then they made Cart Cannon work on ghosts so now she's not even useful for that. Choosing Eleanor is basically denying yourself endgame buffs. And to add insult to injury, when you're in OD2 with her you'll have to put up with other Genetics camping their Dieters and Seras next to you and grabbing all the kills with their AoEs.

She's a cool-looking catgirl at least.  :p_smile:  I went with a Vanilmirth base so that she had Caprice to grab enemies from a distance, along with a solid SP pool since her skills burn SP fast. A Filir would be better for pure damage output, at the cost of lower HP/SP.

Eira I don't know much about though.

Elly is pretty useless - and surprisingly, despite the high theoretical DPS, it's slow to level unless you babysit it and feed it a constant stream of blue pots; It's SP growth is absolutely abysmal, while it's skill is very SP hungry. Oh, and Sonic Claw does better damage than the other combo skills.

Eira is pretty good - I don't know why you say it's a supportive homun - it's got excellent flee and attack speed (as will the owner) thanks to overboost. . It gets it's AoE skill late, but at least it has one. Stat growth is also better. I'd start from Ami (for Bulwark and castling, and bloodlust would improve it's leveling speed, since with OB, it will probably end up dealing a significant fraction of it's damage with physical attacks, not magic). Alternate approach would be a Vani, with the intent of farming it's loyalty up to use the vani-self-destruct skill often (might be interesting with Filir too - I think filir's final skill would 1-shot damned near anyone, even in WoE) in WoE.
