I wanted to try out this game and I just wanted to know if this game is dead or people are losing interest very quickly. I've heard rumors that the game isn't like it was years ago.

The game is alive...and has kept many peoples interest 10+ years ^^

It's actually really active socially and economically (Renewal server anyways, as much as I can tell).

 

If you're trying this out for the first time, it won't matter how it was 10 months or ten years ago.

 

It will be a brand new game experience

Wanting more is what kills this community, even if the game is solid and fun in a Skinner Box kind of way. We want things that we can't just request and receive.

 

But here are things we need in addition to things we want, and we don't get either. We get pissed at our requests and reports seemingly being ignored, and that's why we lose pop.

 

The fact that iRO is alive is a testament to the level of tolerance for bull-_- our community has.

might be on iRO FB page or other pserv forum that the OP might have visited and asked before.
let me correct myself, i mean iRO since there are 3 clusters: non RO player, pserver RO player, official server RO player.

All i know the game is annoying without vip and if u are poor.but too many friendly people here.
