I’ve talked about “Trader Vic” Bergeron before, but since I just visited San Francisco I thought I’d include a little bit of information about one of the key restaurants during the heyday of Tiki: Trader Vic’s San Francisco.

Vic’s first restaurant was in the Bay area and he devotes two chapters to his “Home Port” of San Franciso and he praises the town as a gateway for international food culture into the US.

SAN FRANCISCO, the end of a cook’s tour, where everyone seems to be interested in food and its preparation. This probably accounts for the hundreds of restaurants here where the adventurous can dine on foods from all over the world. The homesick traveler or immigrant can always find a small restarant somewhere which offers the dishes of his homeland -Trader Vic’s Pacific Island Cookbook

The album of the week: Spotlit on the “Quiet Village Podcast”, is a tribute to the legendary Exotica musician Arthur Lyman by his grand-nephew. This is classic Exotica music done up in a jazzy style.

For the recipe of the week, here is an authentic Trader Vic cocktail, from the Pacific Island Cookbook

This is a pretty drink for the girls. Not too strong but it has authority

WHITE WITCH

In a tall glass with crushed ice:

Juice of half a lime-save shell
1/2 oz white creme de cacao (chocholate flavored liquer)
1/2 oz Cointreau
1 oz white rum (recommends Jamaican, but you can probably go with a Cruzan or other silver rum-Avoid Bacardi)

Add ingredients, stir and add sparkling water to top of glass. Stir one. Decorate with lime shell and fresh mint that has been dampened and dusted with powdered sugar.

Good Afternoon Oda and Campitor,

Would it be possible for Malangdo NPC, Dark Merchant K, to trade Splendide coins in exchange of Class C coins? It currently exchanges C Class coins to Mora coins at 10:1 ratio.

 

We can ask them about this. 

Also the Storekeeper NPC (Kafra storage cat) at Malangdo asks you to pay with 1 Malang Sp Can to access storage, but takes 2 in return. Is that why this cat has a smirk on its face? Please fix.

Do you have any plans of raising the exp of monsters past Lv100 and phasing out gramps?

What are your thoughts on how players are (not) encouraged to party and level on world maps?

 

It is unlikely that we would phase out gramps completely but like with the bounty boards we are open to new suggestions.

why? we have geffen spotlight months ago that causes serious local lag in geffen and orc area.

1. Any UPDATE in adjusting the Splendide board to give out these EXP rewards? (Note the last time I asked this, I was asking about a CHANCE of adjusting so this is a completely different question.)

 

We are still in process of clearing out our backlog of issues and the board exp rewards are on that list. 
 

It shouldn't be that hard to figure out what the xp should be...Mob xp x kill count.

This is what the exp SHOULD be (you can check toxn's irowiki link to see how horrible it actually is):
Cornus - 936,000 / 600,600
Naga - 441,600 / 331,800
Pinguicula - 315,150 / 362,850
Luciola Vespa - 243,300 / 270,900

...

As it stands, VIP with the suggested rewards should get 5.8m xp (this includes monster kill xp). Thats reasonable to get them up to 120.

Q1: Could you disable kettle hat during TE or actually fixed the bug?

Q2: Any update on the WoE coins and Kvasir ring trade rate? If you don't have a reply from kRO yet, is iRO allowed to change it to a more realistic number by our own?

Q3: Is the 2012 lunar New Year Quest aka the Dragonhelm Quest getting fixed? A lot of player's cannot start the quest for unknown reason.

While I realize that there are people who love to create the loading screens, it would be nice if they were removed, or at least limited to character log in's. There is a large amount of lag, & delays, caused by these loading screens. A lot of the latest ones are really repetitive too. Besides the signs, on them, regarding, botting, the use of 3rd party programs, & buying zeny, resulting in banning, isn't going to stop people from doing these things.

I'm sure this might have been addressed, but is there a thread or information regarding the Guild Surplus Box rates on getting which items? Is it possible to re-adjust not getting so many of one item or maybe a trade-in NPC that I'm unaware of? It is a bit depressing to see 120,000 Immortal Hearts and 0 Stems

 

Also, is there a Yellow Ribbon headgear incoming for August boxes? ^______^

They are called loading screens because they load when you login, warp, etc... Maybe you've never noticed the length of time they can take to load.

When is stasis getting a fix so it doesn't go through walls, and/or fixing the fact that it's not working as it should (duration should be reduced by stats) as it is in kro? Have you given up on asking kro for it? :/

 

Unfortunately that is something that kRO says is "working as intended" we have requested a custom version that WON'T go through walls for the future. 

 

Suicidal destruction, since you can't do anything about people multi clienting +5 mechanics (doesn't happen in kro, therefore it's balanced there), what are your thoughts about this skill, now that you can almost insta cast it? Have you considered extending the cooldown so it can't be spammed on alts, or any other change to it?

Edit; Why did you account bind creative convention hats without any previous notice? you didn't ask the community and you certainly didn't listen to the right people. If this is how it works out, could as well account bind all usrc exclusive headgears too, right? these are also rares from specific events, and people profit selling them off. Same for usrc weapons. Why do you specifically punish those who benefit the community by participating into creative events?

 

I had to pump the brakes on the tradability of the headgears and so that people would get the message that these are not intended to be RMT sold. These items will be unbound eventually, but will likely not be able to be placed in a vend.

is it? seriously? i even fought and killed a regular dark lord at GH challenge 1st floor even tho according to divine-pride there's no MVP in 1st floor.
btw Zayaan, have u got Cursed Book [1] and Muramasa [2] yet from 2nd floor? those items havent out in market yet.

they shouldn't contain any images anyway imo. Should be based off context, not how pretty they can make it, or need images to make it make sense.

I asked people to tell me if something was off about format. I removed -forum- emoticons, but pictures were fine as is. Anyway, it's a writing contest, so it's pretty irrelevant. If you were concerned you could've told me and I'd have uploaded the forum emoticons into images instead of asking here (?)

 

It's not like I wanted to remove the emoticons, either. There was just a limit to them so I preferred removing all of them instead of keeping some.

I mentioned doing something before with the Kafra Special Reserve Points, since pretty much the best thing you can get with them are white potions.  Would it be possible to do some kind of event to use them to get various costume headgears?  I didn't say it before, but I don't want to see something like Spare Card come back.  It would just be nice to have something fun or useful to spend the Kafra Reserve Points on, especially if they were cosmetically appealing.  Pet tames are another thing that would be great for the Kafra Reserve Point lottery, specifically the one's that have only been obtainable through those player hosted events.  Can we pretty please do this?

I've not gotten the cursed book so far but I have gotten a few Muramasa [2]'s
