Hello I'm having trouble connecting to the patch server for Ragnarok Online

I've downloaded uninstalled reinstalled the client several times

I've tried flushing the DNS

I've connected to the directory through internet explorer

I've tried bringing down the firewall

I've tried opening all the ports for Ragnarok

I've tried adding the servers to my hosts registry

EDIT

- YEARS LATER-  It seems like the problem laid with my Framework which had to be updated but windows was failing to install the update every time I rebooted, it must have been corrupted.  So I did a few things to try to work around this, first I downloaded and patched the client on a computer at work, I then uploaded that patched client the entire Gravity folder and all into my usb and downloaded it on to the computer I was having trouble on to begin with and then I backed up my files and reset my computer to its factory settings.  ( after which of course, I updated all drivers and software as needed )

I'm now playing in the world Ragnarok woohoo!

Post the contents of your HOSTS file. If you are on Windows Vista/7 with UAC enabled or windows  8 regardless of UAC settings (UAC is never off on Win8), did you run notepad as admin to edit it? You must run notepad (or whatever editor you're using) as admin for this. See http://helpdeskgeek....s-7-hosts-file/

Try to open ftp://ropatch1.gravityus.com and ftp://ropatch2.gravityus.com in IE. What happens? If it looks like it works, press reload - you may find that it's just showing you a cached copy, and fails when it actually tries to load the page (as a bandaid, I've held down F5 until the page starts loading correctly for both of those addresses - and then started RO, which will patch, because the dns queries are cached).

If it doesn't work, what error do you get?

Also, can you access ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/ in internet explorer? If not, then you've got the IE-can't-access-FTP-sites issue.
