Gamestart error: DX9 Renderer Initialization has been failed.

So I tried to installed the client with more than enough error messages and problems and whatever.
Now that I managed to install the client I get this error when I try to start the game.

What I recently tried until now: 
- Nvidia driver is allready updated
- DirectX is updated

- I rebooted my Laptop
- I  put the graphic setting on low
- I tried it in window mode and fullscreen

When I use the window mode a white window appears and closes a bit later without any error message.
When I use the fullscreen mode I get the error message in the title.
The graphic settings didn't seem to change something.

I have Windows 8.1 and now idea which information you need beside that.
And sorry for the strange nickname - I can't change it and I have no idea why I got this now... seems like it was created because I played Ragnarok.

I hope someone can help me please. =/

I'm very busy and don't have much time today, but try this (sound strange but give it a try):

 

Please re-install your game into another target folder (e.g. SagonDraga).

For many people that worked. 

 

Start it in Windowed mode then (because of this DX9 Renderer Initialization failed error) and it should work.

 

At the moment I'm investigating, where this strange behaviour comes from.

It could have to do with the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) or with the Windows AppCache.

Both are very deep system functions and it's difficult to deal with them if something goes wrong.

 

Let me know whether this works.

I figured it out when I saw a post of you somewhere but it was too late and I was too tired yesterday (more like this morning 5am) that I forgott to answer. D:

I even tried what you said and it worked after I downloaded the alternative client with the internet explorer instead of chrome because everytime I used Chrome it was corrupted. I can play it now on fullscreen WHEN I start it in window mode (which doesn't make any sense because I can play it in fullscreen with every setting put on "high" xD)

The thing with the alternative installation folder is a strange thing, but I had the same issue first long time ago on the german gPotato server.

By accident I just copied the whole game to another folder and - bingo - it worked perfectly.

And since then I always recommend to install in another folder if someone gets this problem.

 

I'm investigating this issues for a long time and as I said I only can imagine that the problem has to do with the DEP or the AppCache.

I hope sometime I can offer a better solution for this problem, but at the moment this is the best one.
